As a dedicated fan, I have always admired Neha Bhasin’s powerful voice and captivating performances. But what truly moved me is her courage to openly discuss her battles with PMDD, OCPD, and fibromyalgia. Her journey, marked by chronic fatigue, emotional turmoil, and physical pain, resonates deeply with me as someone who has witnessed the strength it takes to keep going in the face of adversity.
Neha Bhasin, who’s been a well-established singer for quite some time now, has produced numerous hit songs such as Asalaam-e-Ishqum, Jag Ghumeya, and Dhunki. Known for expressing her opinions freely, she recently shared a lengthy post where she discussed her battles with Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) and Obsessive-Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD).
As a lifestyle expert, I’d rephrase Neha Bhasin’s statement in the first person like this: “Two years ago, I was officially diagnosed with fibromyalgia, but looking back, I’ve always had a sense that something wasn’t quite right with my health. After years of uncertainty, today’s medical advancements have provided me with an official diagnosis – one I’ve carried since I was 20 years old. With this newfound knowledge comes the realization and acceptance that for now, my nervous system seems to be malfunctioning.”
In her subsequent part of the letter, Neha elaborated on a variety of issues such as persistent tiredness, both physical and emotional discomfort, worry, and recurring phases of sadness. Bhasin too touched upon earlier hardships, poor diet choices, and sleep problems. She eventually confessed to finding comfort in writing in a journal and practicing yoga.

“Every month, PMDD plunges me back into a familiar dark pit or creates fresh ones. Is this my inadequacy, wonders my OCD-like tendencies… My doctor terms it Fibromyalgia, and I’m only now coming to terms with it. For years, I’ve been exercising, dancing, and pushing through pain, thinking I was just stiff and needed more stretching.” Bhasin expressed.
In wrapping up, Neha expressed that although she faces ongoing hurdles in her life, she neither identifies as a victim nor a conqueror. Instead, she finds solace in writing and concludes by extending her affection to all.
Neha’s post sparked a multitude of responses from her fans and followers, including actor Sushant Divgikr who commented, “You have consistently been one of the kindest people I’ve ever encountered. I stand by your side now and forever. Whenever you need me, I will be there.” (Or, “I’ll make myself available when you need me.”)
Neha Bhasin was also a contestant on the debut season of Bigg Boss OTT.
