Starting this February, enthusiasts of shows like “” and ““, “” will have a unique opportunity to savor their beloved tunes as Netflix ventures into the realm of delectable cuisines. Essentially, Netflix is planning to launch a restaurant in an unlikely location – Las Vegas.
Starting February 20th, the Netflix Bites Vegas eatery will welcome guests with a fresh take on binge-watching favorites. Located within the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, this one-of-a-kind restaurant offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner experiences inspired by or directly taken from some of Netflix’s most beloved series.
Josh Simon, Vice President of Consumer Products, stated, “Netflix Bites Vegas is an innovative approach where we transform beloved shows into mouthwatering experiences. We’re thrilled to collaborate with MGM Grand, masters in hospitality and spectacular Vegas entertainment, to give fans a fresh way to engage with their favorite narratives by inviting them to savor the flavors of Stranger Things, Bridgerton, Squid Game, Chef’s Table, Dinner Time Live with David Chang, and many others, one delicious bite at a time.
MGM Grand president and COO Mike Neubecker said of the venture:
Las Vegas specializes in providing extraordinary experiences for its visitors, allowing them to step into another realm, similar to what Netflix does with its content. Partnering with Netflix for Bites Vegas is perfect since we both excel at captivating and entertaining audiences. Together, we’re crafting a destination that seamlessly combines entertainment and culinary delights in a way only MGM and Netflix can.
Netflix Continues Its Food Journey Beyond the Screen
Netflix Bites Vegas aims to expand upon the success of their past culinary exploration, as proven by the overwhelming popularity and perpetual bookings of the Netflix Bites Los Angeles pop-up in 2023, which was the most searched restaurant in LA. Now, they’re planning a more enduring immersive dining experience for Netflix subscribers, one that is expected to attract food enthusiasts with ample budgets alike.
According to Netflix’s press release, some of the dining delights on offer will include:
- “Eleven’s Feast,” crispy chicken and waffle sliders perfect for foodies who love a little dimension-hopping, served both Hawkins style and Upside Down.
- “Bridgerton Regency Tea,” a lavish three-tiered tea service with finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries straight from the Ton served with a menu designed by Lady Whistledown herself.
- “La Casa del Sangria,” a Spanish-style cocktail with gold-dusted mint leaves, served in a lockbox that’ll have guests solving a puzzle, challenging for even the sharpest of the Money Heist crew.
- Too Hot to Handle-inspired Bloody Mary, a cocktail so spicy it comes with its own potholder in case guests can’t handle the heat!
It might seem unexpected for streaming titans to delve into the food industry, but it’s not unprecedented; in fact, Hollywood has dabbled in the culinary scene before. For instance, Netflix, beyond their “Bites” project, has brought real-world manifestations of items like Eggo Waffles from Stranger Things and Scoops Ahoy ice cream into existence. And we mustn’t forget that Planet Hollywood came long before Netflix Bites.
Netflix has been rapidly introducing immersive experiences, broadening its global footprint and offering numerous (and frequently costly) experiences globally. To date, Netflix has established 40 distinct attractions with over 170 openings in approximately 100 cities worldwide, catering to more than 7.5 million consumers. Given that the platform now boasts over 300 million subscribers globally, it seems likely that we’ll see even more of these experiences in the future.
