Netflix Drops Action-Packed Official Trailer for Tom Hardy’s ‘Havoc’

Netflix has unveiled the complete official preview for Gareth Evans’ upcoming action-packed suspense movie, titled “Havoc.” Set to hit screens later this month, the film features Tom Hardy in the lead role. Last year, it was announced that Evans and Hardy would collaborate on their first project together with Netflix.

Title character Walker, portrayed by Tom Hardy, is a battered detective navigating the treacherous criminal landscape of his city, teetering on the brink of collapse. Following a botched drug deal, Walker finds himself pursued by several factions – a vindictive crime organization, an unscrupulous politician, and even his fellow officers. As he endeavors to save the politician’s estranged son, who is implicated in the drug deal, he becomes embroiled in a vast network of corruption and conspiracy, ultimately confronting the ghosts of his own past. This film serves as Evans’ homage to the heroic bloodshed genre, which gained popularity in Hong Kong during the ’80s and ’90s. In addition to Hardy, the movie features Justin Cornwell, Quelin Sepulveda, Luis Guzmán, Michelle Waterson, Sunny Pang, Jim Caesar, Xelia Mendes-Jones, Yeo Yann Yann, Timothy Olyphant, and Forest Whitaker.

In a recent interview on Empire, the movie’s director and writer explained that Tom Hardy portrays a morally questionable homicide detective, yearning for Christmas gifts for his daughter and mending his relationships with loved ones. They also mentioned that the trailer’s design was meant to signal rough scenes ahead, which turned out to be the start of their production schedule – a day that combined testing and camera work with actual filming, creating a challenging initial experience.

Havoc premieres on Netflix on April 25.
