Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions has teamed up with Netflix once again, preparing for their second-ever live boxing event, scheduled to take place on July 11 at the iconic Madison Square Garden.
The upcoming boxing event will prominently feature a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, who previously battled in last year’s Netflix boxing premiere, preceding Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson. This time around, the Taylor-Serrano trilogy match will be the headliner. Notably, this event marks the first time that Madison Square Garden’s entire card will be dedicated to women boxers.

The main attraction for the forthcoming boxing showdown is a rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, who squared off in last year’s Netflix boxing debut before Jake Paul faced Mike Tyson. This time, their highly anticipated third match will take center stage, and interestingly, it will be the first time that all fights at Madison Square Garden will be women’s bouts.
I’ve gotta say, Taylor-Serrano 2 was one heck of a fight – right up there with the most exhilarating battles I’ve ever seen. What made it even more special is that it became the most-watched professional women’s sports event in U.S. history! As a gamer and Netflix’s chief content officer, Bela Bajaria, I’m thrilled we can help boost the visibility of female athletes. And guess what? We’re doing just that by bringing yet another historic sporting event to our worldwide audience with MVP.
The Netflix boxing event held last year garnered massive audiences, as reported by Netflix themselves – 108 million viewers for Paul vs. Tyson, and 74 million for Taylor vs. Serrano, breaking previous records. However, the performance of MVP in the fight against Tyson faced criticism on social media, with some users claiming it was fixed. In response, MVP issued a statement dismissing these allegations as “unfounded,” expressing their desire to establish a lasting relationship with the streaming giant.
It’s unclear if MVP and Netflix have a long-term agreement, but they are planning to collaborate again for at least one more high-profile boxing event, which is set to take place at the most renowned stadium worldwide.
Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, co-founders of Most Valuable Promotions, commented that this event is not just a battle – it’s a tribute to the extraordinary skill of female boxers. They further stated that Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor have broken boundaries and motivated countless people, and this trilogy fight at the legendary Madison Square Garden will mark another significant milestone in the progression of women’s sports.
Katie Taylor expressed her gratitude towards Matchroom, MVP, and Netflix for making the trilogy fight possible. She’s thrilled to headline at MSG again in July, she noted that she has won two fights against Amanda but their rivalry is unique and always delivers an exciting match. The first fight’s atmosphere was fantastic, and she expects nothing less this time around. The viewership for the last fight in November was astounding, and she hopes everyone who watched it will tune in for the trilogy fight as well, promising another great spectacle.
Serrano stated that she had made a promise to her fans about completing the trilogy, and it’s exciting that we can finish our adventure where it started – at Madison Square Garden, streaming live on Netflix. Unfortunately, Katie Taylor did not fulfill her part of the agreement for the trilogy to be 12 three-minute rounds, as the men have. This fight represents a significant financial opportunity for both of us, and I believed we should honor our handshake deal. Taylor failed to do so. However, let me clarify that whenever we fight, it’s always a battle, and I am confident that July 11 will be the best yet because I will finally earn the official W I deserve. Headlining an all-female card at MSG, representing both New York and Puerto Rico, was something I never imagined would happen, and it wouldn’t have been possible without Nakisa Bidarian, Jake Paul, and MVP’s dedication to advancing women’s boxing. I am honored to stand alongside the other talented female fighters on this card, and I hope our fight encourages young girls everywhere to keep dreaming and never give up.
