Netflix’s ‘Man on Fire’ Adds Trio to Cast (Exclusive)

As a longtime fan of gripping dramas and captivating performances, I am thrilled to see Alice Braga, Scoot McNairy, and Paul Ben-Victor joining Netflix’s adaptation of “Man on Fire.” Each of these talented actors has a rich history of bringing complex characters to life, and their addition to this series promises an enthralling experience.

Netflix‘s series adaptation of Man on Fire is adding to its cast.

Actress Alice Braga, known for her roles in “Queen of the South” and “Dark Matter”, has taken on a regular role in the upcoming series. Additionally, Scoot McNairy, famous for his work in “A Complete Unknown” and “Halt and Catch Fire”, as well as Paul Ben-Victor, recognized for his roles in “Nobody Wants This” and “The Wire”, will appear frequently in the show. The series is adapted from the novels by A.J. Quinnell, which have previously been used as source material for a 2004 film starring Denzel Washington and a 1987 Italian movie featuring Scott Glenn.

In March 2023, Netflix commissioned a series that revolves around John Creasy, portrayed by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, who is a former special forces mercenary grappling with severe PTSD. Eager to conquer his internal struggles, he embarks on a journey towards atonement. However, before he has the chance to acclimate to this new phase, he’s once again plunged into chaos, fighting more intensely than ever. The cast also includes Billie Boullet and Bobby Cannavale.

In the storyline, Braga is set to portray Valeria Melo, an accomplished driver who has ties with a criminal gang that manages a favela in Brazil. Creasy then recruits her, eventually relying heavily on her skills as he strives to safeguard a young girl and track down terrorists at the same time.

McNairy is set to portray Henry Tappan, a shrewd and analytical CIA operative based in Brazil. On the other hand, Ben-Victor will bring Moncrief to life, the head of the CIA.

As an avid viewer, I’m excited to share that the gripping eight-episode series is the brainchild of showrunner Kyle Killen, renowned for his work on “Halo” and “Awake”. Joining him as executive producers are Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan, and Natalie Lehmann from New Regency Productions, who hold the rights to the property. Additionally, Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and Tracey Cook from Chernin Entertainment have also lent their expertise. Scott Pennington from Killen’s Chapter Eleven banner is part of the team as well. The first two episodes are being directed by Steven Caple Jr., a talented director in his own right. Ed McDonnell, Michael Polaire, Abdul-Mateen and RedRum’s Stacy Perskie also contribute to this production.

Braga is represented by William Morris Endeavor (WME) and Greenberg Glusker, while McNairy is represented by United Talent Agency (UTA). Ben-Victor is represented by the Independent Artist Group and Alan Siegel Entertainment.
