Nevertheless, a gripping prison drama film based on true events has been added to your streaming schedule by the streamer and hasn’t yet made it to their Top 10 List, but it boasts an impressive 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Romantic comedies remain a favorite among worldwide viewers seeking a dose of romantic feelings. At the top is “Honeymoon Crasher” featuring a man on a honeymoon with his mother after being dumped, followed by “Dhoom Dhaam,” a French comedy about an arranged marriage duo caught in a storm of action, and “Love Forever” where traditional family values disrupt a couple’s wedding preparations. These unique tales are sure to grab the interest of those who appreciate a mix of romance and humor.

Speaking of Netflix, there’s a fresh addition titled “Cell 211” that has recently graced the platform. This gripping movie, a blend of Spanish and French cinema, is inspired by real events and follows a novice police officer on a tour of a penitentiary. Unfortunately, things take an unexpected turn when a brutal prison uprising erupts, compelling the young officer to assume the role of a convict for his survival.

2009’s suspenseful flick, Cell 211, might not be a top pick on Netflix just yet, but its impressive Rotten Tomatoes ratings suggest it’s definitely worth your time. It’s possible that Netflix’s Global Top Ten list hasn’t featured “Cell 211” yet, but I think its inclusion is imminent. For instance, the Netflix documentary “13th,” which was hailed as a significant film about racial injustice towards Black people since the end of the Civil War, garnered critical acclaim, winning a Primetime Emmy and being nominated for an Oscar. Another hit on Netflix was “The Platform,” a movie that was watched by over 56 million households just four weeks after its release. The success of “The Platform” led to the creation of “The Platform 2,” which may not have been universally praised but held the top spot in Netflix’s Global Top Ten for a while. This suggests that viewers on Netflix are drawn to compelling narratives set within the prison system, making it likely that “Cell 211” will find its place in the list soon.

One reason I think “Cell 211” could potentially join Netflix’s Top Ten list in the future is due to their planned 2025 TV adaptation of the prison movie. Interestingly, just weeks before “Cell 211” was released on the streaming platform, a series titled “Prison Cell 211” premiered, sharing a similar plot but featuring a human rights attorney as the lead instead of a police officer. If “Prison Cell 211” turns out to be successful, I’m convinced that Netflix viewers will be keen on watching the original film that preceded it.
