Netflix’s ‘Squid Game’ To End With Season 3, Season 2 Release Date Announced

As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for binge-watching gripping series, I can hardly contain my excitement about the announcement of Squid Game‘s third and final season! Being a fan since its inception, I’ve been on the edge of my seat waiting for Lee Jung-jae to reprise his role as Player 456. The cliffhanger from Season 1 left me yearning for more, and now that we have an official premiere date – December 26 – it feels like Christmas came early!

Hwang Dong-hyuk’s highly acclaimed Netflix show, “Squid Game,” will conclude in 2025 with its third and last season. This announcement was made alongside the confirmed release date of Season 2, slated for December 26.

In the upcoming season, Lee Jung-jae returns as Player 456, three years after the initial season’s events. His character remains committed to unmasking those responsible for the game and ending their cruel pastime. With his newfound wealth, Gi-hun begins his investigation in the most apparent location: searching for a man in a stylish suit playing ddakji in the subway. However, when he finally finds leads, dismantling the organization proves to be more perilous than anticipated: to put an end to the game, he must return to it himself. This is the gist of the official synopsis.

In the principal cast along with Lee, we find his Season 1 colleagues: Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo. Joining for the first time are actors such as Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.

Watch the announcement above. Squid Game Season 2 premieres December 26.
