As a seasoned gamer who’s been around since the days of arcades and pixelated graphics, I must admit that Warner Bros.’ recent string of releases has left me feeling a bit underwhelmed, to put it mildly. From Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League to Gotham Knights and MultiVersus, it seems like they’ve been more miss than hit lately.
Over the past six months, it appears that the films released under Warner Bros.’ label have missed more than they’ve hit, as the intense battles between superheroes haven’t quite matched the expectations built around their well-known intellectual properties in the film industry.
It’s advisable to avoid discussing Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League too much, as its title might lead to approximately $200 million in losses for Warner Bros. (WB). Other recent releases like Gotham Knights and MultiVersus’ reboot haven’t fared well either, leaving WB in a challenging position with only Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions, which remains questionable, on the horizon.
However, following Ed Boon’s hint of Injustice 3 being in development as early as 2022, recent job postings by Warner Bros suggest that NetherRealm Studios is busy with a new major game project. Fans have started connecting the dots.

According to a post on an online forum, Warner Bros is currently hiring for a new top-tier NetherRealm project. This upcoming game promises to include a captivating storyline and exceptional, lifelike character movements.
The job posting is seeking an Associate Producer to join our production team and assist in the daily operations of a top-tier game (AAA title) that NetherRealm Studios is currently developing.
Currently, there’s no confirmed upcoming project from NetherRealm Studio, as Mortal Kombat 1 was released in 2023. This unannounced project has sparked intrigue and guesswork among fans, particularly about the possibility of a superhero-themed game.
Injustice 3 might finally be in the works
As a dedicated fan of Injustice, I can’t help but feel the excitement bubbling up inside me, knowing Ed Boon hinted at Injustice 3 being just around the corner. It feels like the heroes and villains of DC are getting their costumes ready for another epic battle, and I can hardly wait to step back into the arena!
“According to one supporter, it seems quite probable that we’re looking at Injustice 3 now, as the sequence appears to have shifted slightly after the recent releases of two Mortal Kombat games. This pattern is apparently typical for NetherRealm Studios these days.”
Another added, “Injustice 3: Marvel vs DC. A man can dream.“
While two plus two usually equals four, there are exceptions. And since a report suggested that Discovery is selling shares due to a financial issue at Warner Bros., it’s possible the superhero genre may need some time to recover.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of either a remake or a new installment of Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, potentially developed by NetherRealm Studios, as it could resonate better with today’s cultural landscape.
