As a seasoned gamer with a deep appreciation for both virtual and real-life automobiles, I can’t help but be utterly captivated by the Ford Raptor T1+. Having spent countless hours racing through digital terrains in various off-road games, I’ve developed a keen sense of what makes a vehicle truly exceptional in such environments.
In partnership with M-Sport, Ford Performance has introduced an upgraded version of the Ford Raptor called the Raptor T1+. Designed to conquer the demanding Dakar Rally, this model showcases advanced suspension and a mighty V8 engine, establishing a new standard for rally raid vehicles.
An upgraded suspension system with Fox bypass shock absorbers that can be adjusted, is found in the Raptor T1+. This advanced feature enhances its handling and endures harsh conditions brilliantly. Its engine, a 5.0L V8 derived from Coyote, supplies the required power and torque for conquering rough landscapes. Additional features include a dry-sump oil system and an optimized exhaust system tailored for tackling the demanding terrain of Dakar.
Remarkably, this vehicle’s design showcases a T45 steel spaceframe and carbon fiber body panels, resulting in an eye-catching look and performance enhancements. It rides on 8.5-inch by 17-inch aluminum wheels with massive 37-inch tires. Equipped with front and rear 355mm Alcon ventilated disc brakes and six-piston monoblock calipers, it’s prepared for superior stopping power. Boasting up to 350mm of wheel travel and a ground clearance of 400mm, the Raptor T1+ is engineered to tackle even the most challenging off-road terrains.
Mark Rushbrook, Ford Performance Motorsports’ global director, expressed that participating in Dakar is a challenging endeavor. However, with the support of M-Sport and Red Bull, he is confident they are prepared. Additionally, the Raptor T1+ embodies our ambition to demonstrate Ford’s global off-road capabilities in the most extreme locations worldwide.
The 2024 Baja Hungary, Rallye du Maroc, and the most challenging race, the 2025 Dakar Rally, are featured in the competition calendar for the vehicle.
