The beloved Legend of Kain series has returned! The remastered versions of Soul Reaver 1 & 2 were successful, and now we’re seeing an encyclopedia and tabletop role-playing game developed based on the series. Extending the lore of this game franchise could potentially lead to additional remasters or new installments in the near future.
A recent announcement has revealed that we will be introducing two new Legacy of Kain ventures: “The Book of Nosgoth” and “Scourge of the Sarafan.” The former, “The Book of Nosgoth,” is an authoritative guidebook for this series, delving deep into its game production, characters, and numerous other aspects. On the other hand, “Scourge of the Sarafan” is a tabletop role-playing game (TTRPG) that takes place during the Sarafan Order’s campaign against the vampiric menace.
Fans have the opportunity now to pre-purchase these projects via BackerKit. By choosing to acquire both of these projects, they will receive them combined as the Legacy of Kain Complete Edition collection. Additionally, along with receiving the encyclopedia and tabletop role-playing game, fans will also be provided a beautiful box adorned with elegant packaging.
While it may not be as thrilling as hearing about a fresh installment in the Legacy of Kain series, the fact that it’s garnering attention once more certainly sparks optimism for the fans. Fervently hoping that the developers handle future releases with care, considering the lengthy gap since we’ve witnessed new games in the series.
Refreshingly revamping Soul Reaver 1 & 2 was an excellent move to breathe life back into the series. By reintroducing its top-tier games, newcomers get the chance to experience it firsthand. The option to switch between updated and original graphics gives fans a delightful trip down memory lane, while the abundance of additional content keeps them hooked. With the anticipation growing for potential future installments such as a Soul Reaver: Defiance Remaster.
