As a long-time enthusiast of manual transmissions and Honda performance models, I must say, this new Civic RS has certainly piqued my interest! Having grown up driving stick shift and appreciating the connection it brings between driver and machine, I’m thrilled to see that Honda is continuing to offer manual options in their sporty models.
As a gaming enthusiast (or car lover), I’d put it like this: “Just got word that Honda’s given their Civic series a fresh look in Japan! The coolest part? The new RS trim, which is an exclusive manual transmission beauty with a built-in rev-matching system. That’s right, no more fumbling for the perfect gear shift!”
At the moment of writing, the automaker has been rather tight-lipped about specifics, but they’ve hinted at some significant improvements such as a sport-optimized suspension system, distinctive RS emblems, 18-inch black aluminum wheels (Berlina type), revamped front and rear bumpers, and practical exhaust pipes. The interior of this five-door hatchback boasts a vibrant red dashboard and door inserts, complemented by dark-toned upholstery and an aluminum shift knob wrapped in leather.
Regarding its performance, the latest Civic RS is fitted with a turbocharged 1.5L VTEC engine, generating 180 horsepower. Although this is less than its U.S. variant, it’s expected to deliver an enjoyable driving experience due to its 6-speed manual transmission. Additionally, a fresh coat of paint, Seabed Blue Pearl, has been added to the existing color options: Platinum White, Crystal Black, Premium Crystal Red, and Sonic Gray. The new Honda Civic RS is scheduled for release in September, with a starting price of ¥4,198,700 JPY or around $28,162 USD.
