As a long-time Disney and Netflix enthusiast, I’m absolutely thrilled about the upcoming streaming content this week! The combination of new series finales and fresh starts is like a dream come true for me.
This week marks the conclusion of October, welcoming November. Alongside the arrival of Halloween, this transition also signals a significant shake-up in content offerings across popular streaming platforms. With an abundance of new titles coming to Netflix, it’s quite effortless to find yourself overwhelmed by the influx of fresh content.
This week on Disney+, you can catch a series ending, while another exciting series debuts on the very same day. Additionally, the latest season of a highly-anticipated Netflix TV show is now available for streaming. Check out these top picks for your viewing pleasure!
New TV
Agatha All Along Finale – October 30 (Disney+)
The show “Agatha All Along” is like an unofficial Season 2 of “WandaVision,” and it’s done a great job living up to its predecessor. Marvel Studios’ scariest production since “Werewolf By Night” will conclude this week, with the final two episodes being released on Halloween eve. It promises to be a delightful pre-Halloween treat, possibly holding a few surprises before it ends.
Wizards Beyond Waverly Place – October 30 (Disney+)
Prior to achieving fame in “Only Murders in the Building” and amassing billionaire status, Selena Gomez was once a child star on Disney shows. Most who started their careers with Disney have distanced themselves from that past, but Gomez is embracing it wholeheartedly. In fact, she’s serving as executive producer for “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place”, a new sequel series where she will make occasional appearances as well.
The Diplomat, Season 2 – October 31 (Netflix)
In the realm of streaming services where one-season cancellations appear to be commonplace for most shows, it’s worth praising “The Diplomat” for securing a second season. The show’s success may be due in part to Keri Russell’s star power, her Emmy nomination, or a mix of both factors. This renewal for Season 3 gives us another solid reason to keep our Netflix subscriptions active.
New Movies
Despicable Me 4 – October 31 (Peacock)
Despite much acclaim for “Inside Out 2” and “Deadpool & Wolverine” as the top-earning films of the year, the third spot on that list is actually taken by “Despicable Me 4”. This animated series featuring Steve Carrell as a rehabilitated villain might not be the finest film in the franchise, but given its box office success, it’s likely that many viewers will be interested in watching it with their Peacock subscription this week.
Music By John Williams – November 1 (Disney+)
In essence, John Williams stands out as the most exceptional film score composer in history. Known for crafting the iconic themes for films like Star Wars and Indiana Jones, along with numerous others, he is now featured in the recently released documentary titled Music by John Williams. For those with a Disney+ subscription, it’s an opportunity to immerse themselves in his incredible work by watching the movies where his music shines and creating their own marathon viewing experience.
Moving past Halloween and into the usual winter festive period, a variety of themed content will be coming your way. Should you not be in the mood for Christmas films, we genuinely apologize.
