In the second season of Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout series, viewers are being transported to the Mojave Wasteland, and a recent set photo has given us a sneak peek at one of the famous locations straight out of the video games. The location confirmed for the show’s new season is New Vegas, which was famously featured in the 2010 game, Fallout: New Vegas. At the end of Season 1, it was revealed that Lucy (played by Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) are on a quest to find her father, Hank (Kyle MacLachlan). In one of the leaked set photos, Hank can be seen running away in a suit of power armor, heading towards the iconic New Vegas strip.
The photo, which appears to be a leak and was shared by @fallout.fan.art on Instagram, showcases one of the famous locations from the game. The post, written as “‘Just received this image, possibly a leak for the Fallout TV show!’“, shows the head of a massive green dinosaur that can swallow a person whole. Although it might be puzzling to those unfamiliar with video games, those who have played New Vegas will instantly recognize Dinky, implying we’ll visit the town of Novac during Season 2.
In the video game, Novac is a quaint town situated on Highway 95, serving as an entrance to the New Vegas Strip. Here, players meet Boone, a former sniper for the New California Republic who’s chosen to reside in Novac after retiring. The fate of Boone in the game depends on your decisions; if he survives until the end, there’s speculation that we may encounter a live-action version of Boone in Fallout Season 2. Previous photographs from set locations have shown us Novac itself, although some notable features like the Dinky Dino were missing from earlier leaks.
What to Expect From ‘Fallout’ Season 2
If your experience with the world of Fallout is limited to Prime Video’s series, then the dazzling spectacle of Season 2 might take you by surprise. Despite America being largely destroyed by nuclear bombs in 2077 and transformed into a radioactive wasteland, Sin City managed to rise from the ashes post-apocalypse. In the game, this area is famously known as The Strip, and it’s teeming with casinos, bars, and other establishments reminiscent of real-life Las Vegas. Fans are eagerly anticipating Lucy “the American Sweetheart” navigating New Vegas in Season 2, particularly alongside the ethically grey character, The Ghoul.
No specific launch date has been announced for the second season of Fallout as of now. However, hints from set photos and Walton Goggins himself confirm that filming for Season 2 has commenced. Alongside Goggins, Purnell, Kyle MacLachlan, Aaron Moten, and Leslie Uggams are all expected to reprise their roles. Moreover, the show has added new faces to its cast, including Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone and Kumail Nanjiani known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As of now, details about their characters in Season 2 have not been disclosed yet.
