In my gaming world, I might put it like this: “Word on the street is that one of my ex-managers has decided to take legal action against me, claiming I’ve gotten physical with him in ways that include assault and battery, plus causing him serious emotional turmoil.
According to TMZ, Brandon Garrett – who is believed to be Minaj’s manager around April 2024 – alleges that the rapper physically and verbally attacked him during a tour stop in Detroit. He claims that she lost her temper when he delegated someone else to pick up her prescription, resulting in her slapping him across the face which caused his head to jerk back and sent his hat flying off.
Minaj is reported to have angrily confronted Garrett in her dressing room, accusing him of picking up her prescription. She called him names like “crazy” and threatened him, saying that if her husband were there, he would punch Garrett’s teeth out. She claimed that Garrett had ruined his own life and no one would ever respect him again, promising to make sure of it. Additionally, she is said to have hit him on the right side of his face with an open hand, caused a commotion by summoning her security team, struck his wrist, knocked papers from his hand, and ordered him to leave.
According to Garrett, he hurriedly left for a restroom at Little Caesars Arena after the incident occurred, reaching out to his fiancée immediately to share what had transpired. He mentioned that he remained in the bathroom for extended periods due to concerns about his personal safety. He also stated that his wrist was hurting and his face felt painful.
Additionally, Garrett claimed his team was denied access to Minaj’s tour bus for the return trip to Chicago, resulting in him being stuck in Detroit instead. He is pursuing compensation for this incident.
Nicki Minaj‘s lawyer Judd Burstein informed TMZ that currently no complaint has been filed against Mrs. Petty, so they are unaware of the specific accusations being made. He added that if the lawsuit as reported by TMZ is true, it is entirely false and baseless. The legal team is confident that this former assistant’s case will be swiftly dismissed in favor of Nicki Minaj.
