As a seasoned gamer with a heart for art, I’ve traversed countless digital landscapes and virtual galleries. Yet, nothing quite prepares you for the raw, tangible emotion that seeps from the works at Night Gallery’s Form and Feeling exhibit.
In the evenings at Night Gallery, an engaging exhibition titled “Form and Feeling” unfolds. This exhibit brings together the creative works of artists Tony Bluestone, Strauss Bourque-LaFrance, Tomashi Jackson, Sahar Khoury, RJ Messineo, Marisa Takal, Zoe Walsh, and Sarah Zapata. Through a variety of sculptures and paintings, this show encourages viewers to ponder deeply on the way emotions are embedded within matter and how they bring vitality to the items we fashion ourselves.
Embracing a contemporary spirit that sees shape not just as an expression controller but also as a vessel for fresh emotional outlets, each piece delves deeply into its own emotional sphere. Ranging from fluid fabrics to bold, lush brushwork adorning canvases, the exhibition fearlessly explores this emotional odyssey with courage and daring visual style.
Under the guidance of Ashton Cooper, Form and Feeling delves deeply into the powerful impact of art’s structure and invites intrigue as it explores the related questions and responses. In his musings about emotion, Cooper expresses, “My thoughts often wandered back to these questions, feeling drawn to address them seriously, seeking a method to discuss embodied feelings and subjective experiences without being overwhelmed by the traditional narrative of the inspired artistic spirit.
The exhibition is now on view in Los Angeles through January 18, 2025.
