Nike and EA SPORTS Team up to Create New Air Zoom Arena

As a long-time enthusiast of both footwear design and video games, I can hardly contain my excitement for EA SPORTS FC 25! The Nike Air Zoom Arena, a digital stadium inspired by the iconic Mercurial cleats and architectural masterpieces like Manchester City’s Etihad and Marseille’s Stade Vélodrome, is an absolute game-changer.

As a gamer, I can appreciate how some of the best sneakers have an architectural feel to them, whether I spot them on the city streets or the gaming arena. The legendary Virgil Abloh understood this too, as he masterfully disassembled several groundbreaking Nike designs in 2017, redefining the landscape of footwear design ever since.

In a novel development, the Swoosh brand is venturing into uncharted territory by constructing a digital sports arena for the upcoming EA SPORTS game, FC 25. Known as the Nike Air Zoom Arena, this stadium seems to be a blend of Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium and Marseille’s Stade Vélodrome, with the distinctive design elements of the renowned Mercurial cleats. The resulting structure showcases a streamlined architectural style that mirrors the refined gameplay of the FC series, as well as some of the dynamic footballers who have worn Nike’s top-tier football boots.

In Ultimate Team and Clubs, you can now enjoy the exciting new 5v5 matches that are compatible with the Nike Air Zoom Arena. This gaming mode aligns perfectly with EA SPORTS’ groundbreaking Rush experience, where you have the option to replace AI players with human teammates, join smaller teams for a faster-paced and goal-filled gameplay, and experience endless fun!

Just like many games released over the last two decades, FC 25 brings a fresh set of features such as an extended career mode, exclusive rewards and jubilations within Ultimate Team, plus lifelike in-game actions driven by EA’s innovative FC IQ and HyperMotionV technology.

FC 25 will release globally on September 27, 2024.
