As a gamer who has spent countless hours virtually running through Forrest Gump’s iconic journeys, I must say, the Nike Book 1 “Forrest Gump” is a dream come true. The anticipation of seeing these on-court PEs hit the shelves was like waiting for Pony Boy to finally meet Johnny in “The Outsiders.
Nike Book 1 – “Forrest Gump” Edition
This year, Devin Booker showcased a pair of Nike Book 1 PEs in the “Forrest Gump” color scheme on the basketball court. Combining sports and nostalgia, this shoe follows the trend of reintroducing the famous “Forrest Gump” colorway. Initially, it was unclear if these shoes would be available to the public. However, it appears that they are now receiving a widespread release. The “Forrest Gump” Book 1s accurately recreate the original Cortez design, with a white upper and bold red accents on the Swoosh logos, tongue labels, and heel tabs. The shoe rests on a white rubber sole, which includes a blue stripe on the midsole, echoing the classic Cortez style.
The first volume of “The Nike Book: Forrest Gump” is no longer a prototype and is anticipated to be launched in January 2025. This launch aligns with Nike’s strategy to relaunch the original “Forrest Gump” Cortez, which is scheduled for May 2024. Here, you can see the shoe either above or below.
