Nike's .SWOOSH Teases "Low Poly" Air Max 1

As a dedicated follower of all things trendy and groundbreaking in the world of entertainment and sports, I can confidently say that Kai Cenat’s partnership with Nike is nothing short of revolutionary! The young New Yorker has not only captured the hearts of millions on Instagram and Twitch but has also proven that streamers are indeed the new athletes of our cultural sphere.

Kai Cenat broke new ground by securing a significant contract with Nike, marking a transition in which streamers are now seen as equally influential as athletes, sometimes even more so, within the cultural landscape. With 10.8 million followers on Instagram and 86.5 million subscribers on Twitch, Cenat’s humorous persona and relatable style have been key factors in his widespread appeal to everyday fans.

Originally from New York City, this individual was showcased in a recent promotional post for Nike’s upcoming “Low Poly” version of the Air Max 1 shoe. This sneaker, launched through Nike’s .SWOOSH web3 platform, retains most features of Tinker Hatfield’s original 1987 design, but there are minor adjustments to the Swoosh that give it a ’90s video game-like appearance. The upper part of the shoe carries on this geometric style with a gradient pattern made up of grey pixel squares spreading towards the toe box.

In great detail, the shoe showcases its branding on the tongue using a digital font, along with a “Push/Start” indication on the insole. Recently, Cenat and Nike revealed their upcoming sneaker in a room resembling an arcade, featuring a leopard-patterned floor, retro gaming accessories, and even a white cubicle setup that seems to be a part of a vintage video game.

Preorder for the Nike Air Max 1 “Low Poly” will begin on October 8th, 2024 for $150 USD.
