No, Britney Spears Has Not Moved to Mexico (Exclusive)

As a long-time fan of Britney Spears, it’s always a rollercoaster ride following her journey. The latest news about her supposed move to Mexico had me packing my bags too, dreaming of sunny beaches and tacos al pastor. But alas, it seems the pop icon is still stateside, at least for now.

Britney Spears has not moved to Mexico.

The popular singer initially informed her fans this week that she had relocated to Mexico as a means to evade bothersome paparazzi, but according to a source, she hasn’t actually moved there. (The Hollywood Reporter was the one who received this information.)

Spears expressed her disappointment about how the paparazzi often distort her appearance, making her resemble a character from the ‘Jason’ horror series with a white mask. She noted that this image doesn’t even resemble her, and she has always found their behavior towards her to be unkind. In some instances, they have portrayed her in an excessively mean-spirited manner, which is why she chose to move to Mexico.

On Tuesday, I shared a video as part of a special birthday tribute for this amazing artist who celebrated her 43rd birthday the day prior. However, in another video, she jokingly claimed that she was actually turning “5” and had plans to attend kindergarten the next day!

Per TMZ, Monday coincided with the day Spears’ divorce from Sam Asghari was finalized.

In August, the rights for the top-selling memoir of a popular singer titled “The Woman in Me” were acquired by Universal. The highly-regarded filmmaker Jon M. Chu will oversee this project, while Marc Platt will be responsible for its production.

Spears announced on social media her enthusiasm about a confidential collaboration with Marc Platt, whom she admires for creating her favorite films. Keep an eye out for more updates.

Published by Gallery Books on October 24, 2023, “The Woman in Me” has achieved remarkable sales in the U.S., with over 2.5 million copies sold. Michelle Williams lends her voice to the audiobook version, which broke records as the fastest-selling audiobook in Simon & Schuster’s history and claimed the top spot on Spotify’s list of most popular audiobooks in 2023.

December 6, 9:38 a.m. – Update: The source has confirmed that contrary to what was suggested in her Instagram post, Spears is not residing in Mexico.
