As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I can confidently say that Cyberpunk 2077 has been quite the rollercoaster ride. When it first launched, it left a sour taste in many of our mouths, but boy, did it ever come back swinging! Update 2.0 and Phantom Liberty have truly breathed new life into this game, turning it from a disappointing mess to one of the best RPG shooters I’ve played in years.
Story Highlights
- Cyberpunk 2077 is one of the most beloved RPG shooters of 2022, launching to otherwise poor reception.
- The game has emerged as one of the greatest comeback stories in the industry, thanks to Phantom Liberty.
- CDPR has announced that it does not plan on patching the game with a PS5 Pro update.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently one of the most exciting action-adventure role-playing games (RPG) set in an open world, and since its release in December, it’s been improving much like fine wine with no equals. However, CD Projekt Red, the developer, has shared some disappointing news that I’m sure many PlayStation 5 Pro owners will find upsetting.
We currently have no plans for PS5 Pro patch,” confirms Cyberpunk 2077’s social handle.
The PlayStation 5 Pro has arrived, showcasing an impressive collection of games that have been optimized for superior performance. Since the console’s announcement, Sony has made a commitment to upgrade several titles to match the capabilities of the Pro system. Excited fans are eagerly awaiting various games to receive this treatment, among them Red Dead Redemption 2 and, as expected, Cyberpunk 2077.
Unfortunately, it seems we may need to be patient beyond our initial plans for those prospects to materialize. There’s a possibility that CD Projekt Red is shifting its focus away from the current project, channeling their efforts into other areas instead. At present, however, they are fully engaged in developing future versions of The Witcher and Cyberpunk series.
Cyberpunk 2077 Is Getting Followed Up By A Sequel
It’s clear now that Cyberpunk 2077 has experienced one of gaming’s greatest comebacks following a troubled debut in late 2020. Update 2.0, along with Phantom Liberty, have been like a breath of fresh air for the RPG, significantly improving the gameplay experience and addressing many technical problems and bugs.

As a dedicated fan, I must admit that while Cyberpunk 2077’s developers, CDPR, have expressed their current plans, it’s not unimaginable they might shift their stance in the coming days. eXputer gave the game a 3.5/5.0 in its initial review, acknowledging its captivating storyline, well-crafted characters, and meticulous attention to detail.
