NOD Studio Situates Curvilinear Cabin in the Heart of Yucatán

Situated in El Cuyo, a region within the Mexican state of Yucatan, NOD Studio has revealed a residential development named “The Trillium Awakening.

The unique layout features a central hub surrounded by three living spaces resembling leaves, each at varying heights. The circular and flowing construction mimics a natural landscape, harmonizing with its surroundings. Driven by nature’s aesthetics and contemporary design principles, this extraordinary sanctuary stands as a secluded haven detached from urban development.

Visitors approach the house via a meandering gravel path, and then cross over an adjacent water feature using stepping stones. Upon entering, they are met by a central staircase adorned with a bamboo dome resembling the bamboo pillars at the building’s base.

Upstairs, you’ll find both the main and additional bedrooms, each equipped with its own private bathroom. Yet, they all have access to a communal space that blends indoor and outdoor living, featuring comfortable seating areas and a swimming pool.

Designers opt for a strategy that leverages natural breezes for ventilation and daylight instead of artificial means, thus minimizing environmental disruption while providing breathtaking vistas of the jungle. Additionally, the nearby water element and swimming pool work together to control temperatures and keep the area refreshingly cool.
