nonnative and UNDERCOVER Explore “OZISM” in New Collaborative Capsule

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for fashion and Japanese culture, I must say that Jun Takahashi and Takayuki Fujii’s latest collaboration between UNDERCOVER and nonnative has truly piqued my interest. The “OZISM” collection, inspired by the distinct aesthetics of filmmaker Yasujiro Ozu, is a testament to their appreciation for the “Portrait of Modern Japanese.

Designer Jun Takahashi has teamed up once more with Takayuki Fujii for another collaboration between UNDERCOVER and nonnative, this time called “OZISM”. This new collection celebrates the unique styles of filmmaker Yasujiro Ozu. The collaboration revolves around a theme of “A Portrait of Modern Japanese”, resulting in a Fall/Winter 2024 capsule collection that includes jackets, sweatsuits, footwear, and winter essentials like scarfs and beanies.

Highlighted items are the Jacket, Crew Long Pullover, and Pants from MONK. Made from a blend of wool, these three pieces embody a contemporary take on “workwear for everyday use.” The jacket sports a V-neck, an off-center zipper, and a pocket tucked inside the left chest area.

Simultaneously, the Monk Long Pullover offers a spacious design, includes a kangaroo pocket up front, and features thumb openings in the sleeves along with side zips. The MONK Easy Pants, on the other hand, come equipped with an adjustable drawstring waist, zippered pockets on the sides, and a hidden zipper inside the hems for easy boot adjustment.

Prices for this collection vary between 11,711 JPY to 357,350 JPY (around $76 to $231 USD). You’ll find the items in three primary color options: Off-White, Olive, and Dark Navy. The “OZISM” collection is now up for grabs through UNDERCOVER’s online store and selected physical retailers.
