As a lifestyle expert who has keenly followed the fascinating journey of actors in Bollywood, I must say that Divyenndu and Amit Sial are two shining stars who have left their mark on the Indian television industry, particularly with their roles in Prime Video’s series Mirzapur.
Divyenndu gained significant recognition following his portrayal of Munna Bhaiya in Amazon Prime Video’s series Mirzapur, a role that was initially offered to Amit Sial. In an interview with Filmygyan, Amit shared, “The character I played in Mirzapur was the one that was offered to me, but it wouldn’t have been convincing for me to play Pankaj Tripathi’s son. However, I am content with what I accomplished and believe Munna is a timeless character.”
In discussing Divyenndu’s role, Amit commented, “He plays the part of a dear friend and does it exceptionally well. Not Maharajji (Munna Bhaiya), but Sial took on the character of Senior Superintendent of Police Ram Sharan Maurya, who served as a Special Officer in Mirzapur.”
After spending two seasons on the show and seeing his character’s demise, Divyenndu decided to leave. In a recent conversation with Zoom, he discussed his emotional departure. At 41 years old, he stated, “Eventually, one can’t glorify the fact that they’re portraying a troubled character. It can be draining. There is only one method to convincingly play such a role…you must immerse yourself completely. And you have to find a way to move on from it as well.”
When asked about the ongoing affection of Mirzapur fans for his character and their repeated desire to see him return, Divyenndu acknowledged these feelings. He further stated, “It’s just love…at times, it can be too much love, but it’s not something you can argue with. It’s great that people appreciate you. However, even if one might want to forget, the fans won’t let you. So, it’s an integral part of your life.”
Amazon Prime Video’s show “Mirzapur” has completed its third season. The initial two seasons created quite a stir and became very popular, but unfortunately, the latest season didn’t garner as much attention. Yet, creators are determined to produce additional seasons in the future.
