Nvidia Fixes RTX 5000 Series Issues, Adds DLSS Support

Nvidia recently launched an updated driver version 572.60, introduced on February 27th, offering enhancements like optimization improvements and addressing the persistent ‘black screen’ problems that some RTX 5000 series GPU users have been experiencing. This new driver update introduces support for DLSS4 in Naraka: Bladepoint, and it also boosts the DLSS performance for newly released titles like Monster Hunter Wilds.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to lend my support to Monster Hunter Wilds, which now benefits from a suite of cutting-edge Nvidia technologies. This includes DLSS Frame Generation and DLSS Super Resolution, as well as ray-traced reflections on compatible RTX GPUs. These enhancements promise an even more immersive hunting experience!

Application-Specific Fixes With GeForce Driver Version 572.60

This latest update addresses several issues: it improves performance for SteamVR on RTX 5000 series graphics cards, works to resolve problems with rendering tools such as VRay 6, Adobe’s Substance 3D Sampler and Substance 3D Printer, and offers support for DLSS4 in applications like D5 Render and Chaos Vantage. Moreover, it strengthens Blackwell support within Maxon Redshift.

Nvidia has addressed concerns related to audio problems and image corruption that occurred when using a DP 1.4 connection with Display Stream Compression (DSC) at high refresh rates, along with issues with image distortion on specific 2D pixelated patterns.

The notes also acknowledge two outstanding issues for notebooks and PC users, which are expected to be patched later including a bug with some games with HDR throwing out an ‘IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL 0xa’ error. Further, there are also some issues with changes to “Display GPU Activity Icon in Notification Area” that may not be reflected until one’s PC is rebooted.

Black Screen Issues And More G-Sync Compatible Monitor Additions

As a thrilled supporter, I must address an issue that’s been causing a stir among us enthusiasts: the black screen problems experienced with past driver versions on the freshly launched GeForce RTX 5000 series GPUs, a problem Nvidia claims has been effectively addressed in the latest update. This upgrade also brings G-Sync compatibility to an impressive 29 new displays, hailing from various manufacturers like Acer, AOC, ASUS, Dell, LG, and Philips. The increased compatibility encompasses IPS, OLED, and MiniLED screens.

The latest update follows a series of previous ones, introducing compatibility with Nvidia’s newly launched RTX 5070 Ti, RTX 5080, and RTX 5090 GPUs, along with support for DLSS 4 in games like Marvel Rivals (driver version 572.47), Avowed (driver version 572.42), and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle (driver version 566.36).

Nvidia’s proprietary software has received updates lately, one of which is significant as it enables users to adjust DLSS4 settings for their games and applications. This enhancement results in improved quality, reduced VRAM consumption, and superior performance. Additionally, the updated drivers incorporate an AI model known as ‘Smooth Motion’, providing enhanced performance in titles that do not support DLSS frame generation.

It’s possible that a fresh update to the drive is being planned for when the RTX 5070 Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) hits the market on March 5, 2025. This is similar to the release strategy of its stronger counterpart, the RTX 5070 Ti.
