Obsessed with Million Dollar Secret? Here’s What Needs to Change for Season 2

Netflix has launched another binge-worthy reality TV series that challenges people’s skills in deceit and manipulation. While it shares some similarities with shows like “The Traitors,” “Whodunnit,” and “The Mole,” it offers a unique twist, boasting its own peculiarities and idiosyncrasies.

As a cinema enthusiast, I can’t help but rave about this captivating show that’s perfect for a binge-watching session. Unlike other Netflix series that can sometimes leave your head spinning, it’s remarkably straightforward – think of it as a long game of hot potato with an extraordinary twist: the potato is worth a million dollars! The challenge lies in uncovering who’s hiding it, making each episode a thrilling guessing game.

The objective is to prevent discovery by using trickery and distraction. The individual who manages to conceal their hidden fortune of a million dollars emerges victorious. Similar to new TV shows, it’s filled with challenges and I have some ideas for improvement.

Million Dollar Secret Should Make The Clues About The Millionaire Less Obvious

The popular Netflix series, “The Million Dollar Secret,” is currently a hit, as evidenced by its trending status. Viewers are finding it hard to resist tuning in each week. Given this success, it appears that a second season is imminent. Consequently, I’m eagerly anticipating some fresh twists and developments.

Each hint pointing towards the millionaire’s true identity has been strikingly clear, particularly those that exposed the Secret Agendas aimed at securing advantages. The moment the clue about a well-known horror film was revealed, it became evident to everyone that Phil was the million-dollar suspect. Given how many people have watched at least one of the Scream movies, and considering the difficulty in concealing an unexpected outburst of fear, it was hardly possible for him to remain incognito during a scream session.

From the start, Phil was destined to stumble because of this agenda. The sole hint that caused confusion was the disclosure about someone falsifying their professional background. Since no one was aware of Sam’s deception, it was simpler for her to conceal the truth. However, the fact that she was the only one without a career created some doubt about her. Furthermore, when Corey received another clue suggesting that someone had or currently works in law enforcement, Sam’s casual mention of a police friend didn’t help her keep her secret hidden.

These indications clearly mark the millionaire as an accessible target. However, they should not be so conspicuous that they expose his wealth openly. Instead, I’d like to find subtle hints that suggest his financial status without giving it away completely.

The Secret Agendas To Win Advantages Should Be Harder To Detect

In simpler terms, I believe the hidden goals were generally acceptable. While they weren’t always a breeze to accomplish, they were manageable. The benefits gained from carrying them out have proven to be worth the effort required.

I find Secret Agendas enjoyable and suitable, though I’d appreciate more diversity in their execution. However, my main concern is that they can be spotted easily. Acting odd, like shouting randomly, hugging excessively, or constantly mentioning Justin Timberlake, would undoubtedly raise suspicions right away.

Instead, subtle actions such as frequently rearranging silverware or being assigned a mission to secretly place an item in someone’s luggage demand a higher level of covertness and strategic planning. These activities are less easily detected because they’re executed more discreetly. The objectives in the initial six episodes primarily revolve around involving numerous individuals, thereby making the task more challenging and instilling suspicion. I grasp that this complexity is intended to make the millionaire’s disguise even more elusive, but it makes hiding virtually unattainable.

The concealed plans might encompass several individuals or public events, yet they won’t be overtly apparent. For instance, the person in possession of a million dollars may need to share a personal anecdote during dinner (where such an event is likely to occur), but must restrict themselves to only three words. This approach appears more organic and less disruptive for the millionaire.

Furthermore, tying the hints to the Agendas could seem biased, unless the hints regarding the Secret Agenda become more challenging. As of now, the hints about the Secret Agenda are making it overly simple to identify the millionaire.

The Millionaires Should Be More Incentivized To Hold Onto The Money At The Beginning

In simpler terms, it’s not wise for anyone to get the money at the start of the game in Million Dollar Secret. This is because whoever has the money will be under suspicion by everyone else and they might end up losing it or getting eliminated. The only exciting aspect of having the money at the beginning would be if there was a very skilled player who could hold onto it from start to finish, but that seems unlikely given the current rules of the game, as all Secret Agendas will eventually reveal who has the million dollars.

As a film enthusiast, I’d rephrase it this way: To keep things interesting and engaging for the contestants, there should be enticing rewards or advantages to voting out the right person at the start. Perhaps, the secret millionaires could have the chance to withdraw money from their briefcases with each elimination they manage to survive. Or, maybe, every time they successfully eliminate a millionaire, the prize pot grows even bigger!

As a seasoned movie critic, I must say that the survival strategy in Million Dollar Secret is intriguing. The lucky contestant who makes it past the initial round stands to gain an advantage or immunity – a tantalizing twist that could make or break the game. To elevate this captivating formula, Netflix might draw inspiration from other popular reality TV shows or iconic moments. By amplifying the allure of the briefcase and heightening the anticipation until the very end, they can truly ignite viewers’ curiosity and keep them on the edge of their seats.

There Should Be Ways To Lose Or Earn Money On Million Dollar Secret

Initially, it might be enticing to save some of the potential winnings as a motivation. Additionally, if contestants fail to guess the millionaire at specific stages, the total reward could progressively shrink.

Instead of creating a show like “The Traitors” or its equivalents with the prize money contingent on overcoming challenges, let’s try to devise a unique approach by modifying the reward system in an engaging manner.

I Want To See More Of The Personal Relationships Between Contestants

Despite several competitors expressing fondness for Phil or sharing a personal relationship with him, they ultimately chose to eliminate him. I wished there had been more insight into their bond before it was discussed.

It’s evident that some characters have formed friendships and developed trust, yet these interactions are scarcely depicted in the series. Instead, the emphasis has primarily been on Chris and Sydnee’s romantic-dramatic relationship, which unfortunately didn’t contribute significantly to the narrative of Million Dollar Secret.

It would be great if we could witness more of the emotional bonds between the competitors, as it makes eliminating them feel more poignant or impactful. However, Lauren expressed strong dislike towards deceiving these individuals, yet her close relationships with them aren’t clearly shown, which might make us question the depth of their connection.

There Should Be More Opportunities For Those Who Aren’t The Millionaire To Lie Or Complete Agendas

I found it quite enjoyable when Corey was given his personal Secret Agenda. Although it wasn’t overly complex, it definitely intensified the gaming experience. Initially, there were concerns that it might raise suspicions about him, yet he executed it seamlessly as if it were second nature.

In this game, it would be intriguing to introduce a feature where each player has their unique personal objectives, referred to as Secret Agendas. This could potentially lead to players gaining extra benefits or insights. However, this element might also result in some misconceptions about who ultimately possesses the million dollars. I propose that this gameplay mechanic should be incorporated into the game right from the beginning.

Instead of focusing on just increasing the number of agendas, let’s aim at reducing the number of people who might deceive for financial gain. It could be beneficial to maintain a secret wealthy individual whose identity remains concealed until needed, ensuring fair distribution of wealth when necessary.

There Should Be Some Sort Of Bonus Prize For Keeping Your Millionaire Secret, Even When Not Currently Holding The Money

Incorporating a plot twist where the character is revealed to be the millionaire following the transfer of funds was an engaging development for the series Million Dollar Secret, but unfortunately made her character’s downfall inevitable. I appreciate this type of surprise reveal, but prefer it not to occur too frequently in the storyline.

In my opinion, participants in this game should initially have the choice to disclose whether they were once a millionaire. However, around halfway through the season, an unexpected turn could be introduced: If players can maintain their millionaire secret throughout the entire game, even if they no longer possess the million and make it to the end, they will receive a reward, regardless of whether they correctly identify the actual millionaire. The prize should be substantial enough to encourage keeping the secret but not so large that it discourages them from attempting to win the million. Perhaps something like $50,000 would be suitable, as it’s an amount worth striving for yet not so significant that it overshadows the main goal of winning a million dollars.

Million Dollar Secret is an excellent Netflix show but could be even better with a few changes.
