In a candid chat with Free Press Journal, renowned Indian table tennis player Sharath Kamal shared insights about his career path, upcoming retirement plans, and the intricacies of sports politics. When asked who would play him in a hypothetical biopic, he promptly chose Vicky Kaushal.
Sharath plans to pen a book about his life experiences first, before thinking of a movie adaptation. He stated that writing provides clarity and allows for a more comprehensive narrative.
Sharath mentioned that if the book gets finished, it’s possible a movie adaptation could come next, but he questioned whether his particular sport would be appealing enough for the entertainment industry to take notice.
Regarding possible casting choices, he mentioned that his primary condition is for the actor to be quite tall; adding a smile, he playfully proposed Vicky Kaushal as a suitable option.
Vicky Kaushal, recognized for his powerful acting in biographical movies, has left an impression by playing real-life heroes in films such as Sardar Udham, Sam Bahadur, and Chhaava. He has many more biographical roles lined up for upcoming projects.
His talent for portraying genuine, deep, and emotionally rich characters from everyday life makes him an excellent candidate to adapt Sharath Kamal’s inspiring tale for the silver screen. Given his previous work, it’s only fitting that Sharath considers Vicky as a likely choice for a biopic about his life.
Speaking as a lifestyle expert, I’ve just had the pleasure of witnessing Kaushal’s stunning performance in his latest film, Chhaava. In this masterpiece, he brilliantly portrays the character of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the remarkable son of the legendary Maratha ruler Shivaji Maharaj.
The film struck a chord with viewers and exceeded expectations at the ticket counter, earning the title of the second highest-grossing Hindi movie ever made. This achievement has only strengthened Vicky’s status as an adaptable actor, particularly skilled in bringing historical characters to life.
In the future, Vicky has some thrilling projects planned out. One of these is Mahavatar, a film that draws inspiration from the life of the revered figure Chiranjeevi Parashurama. This movie will be helmed by Amar Kaushik, who is famously known for directing Stree 2.
Furthermore, there’s a lot of excitement building for Love & War, an upcoming movie by acclaimed director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In this production, Vicky is set to join forces with Bollywood stalwarts Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, further fueling the buzz around the film.
