Olympics Opening Ceremony Debuts ‘The Day of the Jackal’ Teaser with Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch

As a dedicated gamer with a soft spot for thrilling cat-and-mouse chases and intricate puzzles to solve, I can hardly contain my excitement for Peacock’s new series, “The Day of the Jackal,” starring Lashana Lynch and Eddie Redmayne. The first-look trailer that debuted during the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony had me hooked from the very beginning.

In a new preview for Peacock’s “The Day of the Jackal,” Lashana Lynn, a British intelligence officer, is on the chase after an evasive assassin portrayed by Eddie Redmayne.

During the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics, broadcasted on NBC and Peacock on a Friday evening, the initial trailer made its appearance. In this preview, Redmayne’s expertly portrayed character was depicted, armed with a sniper rifle and shedding intricate disguises from his person.

In his line of work, he earns his income by completing contracts involving lethal tasks for the greatest payment. However, after his most recent assignment, he encounters a relentless British intelligence officer named Lynch, who begins to pursue him in an exhilarating game of hide-and-seek across Europe, resulting in chaos and damage.

Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Úrsula Corberó, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi, and Florisa Kamara complete the ensemble of the cast.

On November 7, “The Day of the Jackal” is set to debut on Peacock in the United States and on Sky in the United Kingdom. This production boasts the involvement of several executive producers: Ronan Bennett, Gareth Neame, Nigel Marchant, Sam Hoyle, Sue Naegle, Brian Kirk, Redmayne, and Lynch.

Carnival Films, which is under Universal International Studios and a part of NBCUniversal, will be in charge of worldwide television distribution for “The Day of the Jackal”.
