One Challenge Of Getting Married In A ‘Different Stage Of Life,' According To Newlywed Jana Duggar

As a gamer who has seen my fair share of role-playing games and real-life dramas, I must say that Jana Duggar‘s journey feels like a complex quest line in a game of life. She’s been through trials and tribulations, waiting patiently for her turn to move on to the next level, all while watching her siblings breeze through levels with ease.

Jana Duggar, the eldest child in the Duggar clan, was previously the only unmarried sibling among them all. However, that changed this weekend as she wed her past boyfriend, Stephen Wissman, who is 31 years old. They had dated before, and taking time apart allowed both to grow up before deciding to marry. Interestingly, Duggar admitted that waiting until the age of 34 to get married has presented some difficulties for her.

Following her wedding ceremony, the eldest Duggar sibling – who is three minutes senior to her twin John-David, who tied the knot in 2018 – articulated that she’s witnessed numerous of her siblings wed multiple times. However, there’s a significant contrast between their paths and hers: it’s a matter of timing.

It appears quite distinct, and I believe the main difference lies in the fact that I’ve observed younger individuals navigate relationships, while now experiencing it myself, and indeed, it varies, yet we are older and more settled. We’re a bit more set in our ways, but it’s beneficial as we learn and evolve. It’s been an unusual journey, but oh so enchanting.

After tying the knot with Wissman on August 15th in Prairie Grove, Arkansas, Jana mentioned that they are intending to relocate to Nebraska, which is where her husband hails from. The couple has been busy preparing a new home for themselves, indicating what appears to be the second move Jana makes, following news suggesting she had moved out of Jim Bob and Michele’s house a few years ago after the conclusion of the child endangerment incident she was involved in.

It seems everything has happened very quickly. Stephen Wissman’s sister Hannah is now wed to Jeremiah, who is Jerana’s brother and 25 years old. They have a long-standing relationship, but it was only recently rekindled this year, so they had only been dating for a few months when Stephen proposed in June. As of August, they are officially husband and wife.

As a gamer putting my life into perspective, I’ve watched most of my siblings tie the knot, even my sister Jessa’s in-laws parting ways, all while we were still in our twenties. Yet, here I am, preparing for the next phase of my journey. In a recent interview, I confessed that this path I’ve been on hasn’t always been a smooth one. It’s been quite disheartening at times, and there have been instances when I questioned if there was something wrong with me because I couldn’t seem to find the right person.

But at the end of the day she seems at peace with her journey.

As a gamer, I’ve often found myself puzzled about the grand design, but I trust that whatever higher power there may be has the best intentions for everyone. So, I choose to postpone tying the knot and enjoy the single-player mode a little longer.

At the gathering, Jana appeared radiantly elegant in a dress with a slightly off-the-shoulder design, subtly revealing her shoulders while still adhering to her family’s dress code guidelines. Most of her siblings, excluding her somewhat distant sister Jill, were also part of her wedding entourage.

In a post on Instagram, Jessa, aged 31, who served as the Maid of Honor, described the wedding as “sweet.” Besides her, Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johannah Duggar, Jinger Duggar Vuolo, Jordyn Duggar, and John’s wife Abbie were all part of the wedding party who joined in the celebration.
