One Chicago Fire Season 13 Character Exit Makes Violet’s Dating History Even Worse

Contains spoilers for “Chicago Fire” Season 13, Episode 21 — “The Bad Guy”

Violet Mikami, or Hanako Greensmith, has such a streak of terrible luck in romantic relationships that her blunders could be worth analyzing. It seems like fate may be against her, or she may have upset someone significantly in a past life. She extended this unfortunate trend by ending things with her lawyer boyfriend, Flynn (Steven Strait), due to lingering feelings for Sam Carver (Jake Lockett). Unfortunately, Flynn’s relationship appears to be over, adding another heartache to Violet’s tally, and it seems like Sam Carver will not return in the 14th season of “Chicago Fire,” indicating another potential heartbreak.

After splitting from Carver, largely due to Violet’s realization that she hadn’t loved him as deeply as she thought, Flynn and Violet were getting along quite well. However, when Violet was given a job opportunity at a local medical school thanks to Flynn’s recommendation, she felt pressured. This led to their break-up, as Flynn expressed his belief that Violet wasn’t reaching her full potential. In a moment of candor, Violet confessed her feelings for Carver over Flynn, which proved unfortunate for Flynn, given the pattern of events in her past relationships.

Violet keeps losing boyfriends

Violet’s journey for genuine love has consistently faced obstacles. From the start, it was evident that she had a romantic history with Blake Gallo (Alberto Rosende), but their bond remained platonic. Subsequently, she found herself falling in love with Evan Hawkins (Jimmy Nicholas), who returned her affection, unfortunately losing his life in a building collapse. As Violet grappled with the emotional aftermath of this tragic event, she encountered and began dating Carver, a relationship that was constantly overshadowed by the lingering specter of the Hawkami connection.

The most disheartening aspect is that Violet seems destined for heartbreak once more because Jake Lockett is leaving “Chicago Fire.” Whether his character, Carver, leaves in good health or meets a tragic end, it’s not good news for Violet – and her dating record remains dismal at 0-4. There might be hope for a reconciliation with Flynn, but until then, it appears Violet will strike out again – a prospect that has fans concerned she may never find lasting love.
