As a seasoned film enthusiast with a particular penchant for holiday movies, I must admit that this year has been nothing short of magical with the partnership between Hallmark and Netflix. The addition of gems like “Christmas In Notting Hill” to the streaming service has truly made my holiday movie-watching experience more delightful than ever before.
Every year, Hallmark delivers an abundance of fantastic holiday films as part of their Countdown to Christmas series. With so many movies to choose from, it can be challenging to watch them all. Previously, the only option for catching missed movies was waiting for a replay on cable television. But this year has brought a shift with Hallmark’s collaboration with Netflix. A few holiday romance films have now become available on streaming, such as my favorite of 2023, Christmas In Notting Hill. It’s heartening to see that fans are enjoying it just as much as I did.
Instead of confusing it with the popular romantic comedy starring Julia Roberts, “Christmas In Notting Hill” tells a different story. In this movie, Georgia (played by Sarah Ramos), who’s a special education teacher, journeys to Notting Hill for Christmas to be with her sister. During her stay, she encounters Graham (William Moseley), a renowned soccer player facing a possible career-ending injustice. Unaware of this at first, they part ways after their chance encounter. However, when they discover that their siblings are dating, they find themselves spending the holiday season together due to unexpected circumstances.
Although “Christmas In Notting Hill” isn’t featured in Netflix’s Top 10 most-watched movies at the moment, it’s picking up popularity among those who love holiday romances. Ramos has even shared an Instagram post about the comments she’s been receiving on her role in the film and expressed gratitude for everyone’s support. Here’s a link to the post: [Instagram Link]

It’s astonishing to observe how a cable network movie is garnering such attention among Netflix subscribers, given the abundance of Christmas movies available on Netflix, even Lindsey Lohan’s latest holiday film. However, there’s something enchantingly special about the Hallmark movie, and it’s not only due to its reference to Ted Lasso.
What’s the explanation behind fans’ intense enthusiasm for it? There are numerous factors contributing to this, including its adherence to the classic Christmas film structure and the captivating chemistry between the main characters.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I can’t help but express my admiration for Ramos after witnessing the outpouring of appreciation from fans on her latest Instagram post. Their affection is truly heartwarming!

- An instant classic 🎄🌟 – @julianicholschodges
As a dedicated movie enthusiast, I’ve found myself joining the chorus of fans who’ve been vocal in their hopes for a sequel to that remarkable film. Given its widespread appeal, it seems quite plausible that a sequel could indeed be on the horizon. After all, Hallmark has shown their openness towards sequels, as evidenced by their release of movies like “Three Wise Men and a Boy,” among others. I, for one, would wholeheartedly back such a project!
It’s wonderful that the movie “Christmas In Notting Hill” has been receiving a lot of positive attention, but if you haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, you should hurry as it will be removed from Netflix by December 31st. You still have enough time to catch it one or even two times before it goes!
