As a seasoned gamer and tech enthusiast, I’m always on the lookout for the latest innovations that can make my digital life easier and more productive. And let me tell you, OpenAI’s new SearchGPT prototype has certainly piqued my interest!
Many people currently rely on ChatGPT from OpenAI for answering queries. Now, OpenAI is advancing this functionality by introducing SearchGPT, a new search engine trial.
Currently accessible only to a limited number of users and content providers, this tool is described by the company as providing “quick and accurate responses drawn from the power of our AI technologies and reliable web resources.”
At the top of SearchGPT, there’s a query: “What are you trying to find?” Once you enter your question, the results will only come from trustworthy sources like news outlets and scholarly articles.
For each answer provided, this text identifies and provides access to the original source. OpenAI collaborated with publishers to develop SearchGPT, granting the publishers control over their representation within the feature.
Search engines and OpenAI use different approaches to train AI models, with some concerns raised over the former’s reported use of content without consent from publishers. However, any website can appear in search results, irrespective of their preference to be included.
