Clear the red carpet, more stars are lining up for Hollywood’s biggest night.
Oprah Winfrey, Selena Gomez, Ben Stiller, Willem Dafoe, Goldie Hawn, Sterling K. Brown, Joe Alwyn, Lily-Rose Depp, Ana de Armas and Connie Nielsen have been announced as presenters for the 97th Oscars ceremony, according to executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan who made the announcement on Wednesday.
Additionally, Nick Offerman, a well-known actor and Emmy Award winner, has secured a prestigious role as announcer for the televised event. This will be his debut at the Academy Awards, although he’s previously attended the exclusive Vanity Fair afterparty on multiple occasions with his wife Megan Mullally. Offerman is taking over from David Alan Grier, who was the “voice of God” during the 2024 Oscar broadcast.
Oscar nominee Oprah Winfrey received her recognitions for producing Ava DuVernay’s acclaimed film “Selma” and for her supportive role in Steven Spielberg’s “The Color Purple.” In addition, she was awarded the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Prize in 2012. Gomez is part of the star-studded cast vying for Oscars in the film “Emilia Perez“, while Alwyn comes from Brady Corbet’s contending movie “The Brutalist.”
Currently, Stiller is receiving recognition for his work in the second season of “Severance”. Meanwhile, Dafoe and Depp are featured in Robert Eggers’ highly praised film titled “Nosferatu”, while Nielsen has collaborated again with Ridley Scott on the epic sequel to “Gladiator” known as “Gladiator II”. Brown, who was Oscar-nominated for his role in Cord Jefferson’s “American Fiction”, can now be seen in Hulu’s production called “Paradise”. In addition, de Armas, who received a nomination for her performance in “Blonde”, will soon appear in the movie titled “Ballerina”. Lastly, Hawn, a two-time Oscar nominee and winner of the best actress in a supporting role award for “Cactus Flower” in 1970, is also part of our scene.
A list of fresh faces are now part of the group who will be presenting the Oscars, along with those who were previously announced: Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Cillian Murphy, Amy Poehler, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, June Squibb, Emma Stone, and Bowen Yang.
Or in a more conversational style:
Newcomers have been added to the lineup of presenters that were already announced, which includes stars like Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Cillian Murphy, Amy Poehler, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, June Squibb, Emma Stone, and Bowen Yang.
Both versions convey the same meaning in a natural and easy-to-read manner.
As a thrilled fan, I can’t wait to join Conan O’Brien from the iconic Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood for the grand spectacle that is the Oscars! Mark your calendars for March 2nd at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT, and don’t forget to tune in on ABC or stream it on Hulu. Keep an eye out for more exciting talent announcements in the upcoming days!
