As a long-time fan of Celeste and her captivating music, it is always a delight to see her talents being recognized and showcased in new and exciting ways. Her latest single, “This Is Who I Am,” perfectly encapsulates not only the essence of the upcoming series, The Day of the Jackal, but also her own journey as an artist.
Oscar-nominated artist Celeste has come back with a fresh single titled “This Is Who I Am,” which also serves as the theme song for the forthcoming original series on Sky and Peacock, named “The Day of the Jackal.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m really feeling the vibe of the title track for our program, which was crafted by the brilliant British artist who skyrocketed to fame with her debut album “Not Your Muse” hitting no.1 on the U.K. albums chart. She teamed up with Kendrick Lamar’s collaborators Beach Noise to create this awesome tune. Notably, she also co-wrote the Oscar-nominated song “Hear My Voice” alongside Daniel Pemberton for Netflix’s “The Trial of the Chicago 7”.
On a Monday, Sky unveiled the opening credits for “The Day of the Jackal,” created by Hingston Studio, which includes her song.
Celeste’s ‘This Is Who I Am’ beautifully sums up the core of ‘The Day of the Jackal’, being both captivatingly dynamic and uniquely distinctive,” commented Gareth Neame, CEO and executive producer, along with Nigel Marchant, managing director and executive producer, at Carnival Films. “We sought a song that would linger in memory, and Celeste’s powerful rendition certainly fits the bill, adding an impressive depth and intensity to the opening credits.
Featuring Eddie Redmayne and Lashana Lynch, “The Day of the Jackal” is slated to debut on Peacock in the U.S. on November 14, and on Sky and NOW in the U.K. on November 7. The story revolves around Redmayne’s character, a skilled assassin who earns his living by executing contracts for the highest bidder.
