Our Favorite New Car Reveals of 2024

As a seasoned auto enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must say that these latest releases from Toyota and Rimac are truly a sight to behold!

By the end of 2024, the automotive sector has offered a thrilling blend of creativity, nostalgia, and daring design decisions. This year witnessed a surge in restomods that breathed new life into timeless classics, persistent efforts toward hybrid technology, and some unexpected contenders in the electric vehicle market.

Although Electric Vehicles (EVs) remain a contentious and buzzing subject in industry debates, our list solely features one vehicle, as we’ve chosen to concentrate on achievements in the internal combustion engine (ICE) and hybrid sector this year. As the year progressed, an increasing number of automotive manufacturers extended their electrification deadlines and seem to be gravitating towards hybrid powertrains instead. Interestingly, some companies have revisited their heritage, launching genuine V12-powered vehicles, offering a glimmer of optimism for ICE enthusiasts who aren’t quite prepared to transition to electric yet.

2024 saw some incredible automotive unveilings that perfectly blended speed, aesthetics, and heart-stirring allure. As a gaming enthusiast with an eye for cool rides, I’m excited to share my top ten favorite car debuts of the year:

Aston Martin Valiant

Its bold design, V12 engine and manual transmission made the Aston Martin Valiant an easy choice for this list. With a 734 hp twin-turbo 5.2L V12 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox, the car is designed to deliver raw power and precision driving. The British automaker found inspiration in F1 driver Fernando Alonso and as a result created the Valiant to perform both on the road and track. It features a lightweight carbon fiber body and advanced dampers and is limited to just 38 units.

BRABUS Rocket GTS

2021 sees BRABUS setting new standards, crafting one of the swiftest hybrid production automobiles globally, with only 25 models available. Boasting an impressive 986 horsepower, harnessed from a 4.5L V8 biturbo engine combined with an electric drive module, the BRABUS Rocket GTS is undeniably exceptional. Its intricate construction and abundant use of carbon fiber lend it the stature of a Hyper GT, reflected in its price that commences at $1,000,000 USD. Among the many captivating aspects of this Shooting Brake, based on the Mercedes-Benz SL, is its 21-inch Monoblock P wheels, adorned with subtle carbon aero blades.

Evoluto Peak Analogue 355

This year, I found myself venturing beyond my typical restomod comfort zone with Evoluto’s “Peak Analogue.” Limited to only 55 units, this masterpiece is built upon the Ferrari 355 platform and exudes a timeless charm that demands attention. The design genius of Ian Callum seamlessly fuses nostalgia with cutting-edge engineering, creating a visual spectacle that leaves you spellbound.

KIA Pride Restomod

Indeed, you’re correct that the EV KIA made it to the top 10 list, but what might intrigue you is our choice – the “Pride EV”. Despite the overall decrease in EV value and delayed electrification plans by many companies, suggesting daily driving of EVs isn’t yet feasible for most. However, we believe there’s still a place for innovative projects and unique vehicles, which is where we see the KIA Pride fitting perfectly. This 1996 KIA Pride boasts an electric powertrain producing more than 100 hp with a range of 120 miles, but what truly charms us is its retention of the original five-speed manual transmission. This creates a delightful fusion of vintage design and cutting-edge technology.

Lamborghini Temerario

Amidst the uncertainty surrounding the auto industry’s transition from Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) to Electric Vehicles (EV), it’s intriguing to witness a variety of innovative hybrids emerging. One such captivating model this year hails from Lamborghini – the Huracan Tercero, or Tempestario for short. This model is enticing due to its sleeker silhouette and unyielding performance potential. The car boasts a twin-turbo V8 engine combined with three electric motors, generating over 900 horsepower and accelerating from 0-60 in an astonishing 2.7 seconds. Given Lamborghini’s delay in introducing its first EV model until 2029, we eagerly anticipate more thrilling hybrid creations from the Italian automaker.

Maserati GT2 Stradale

Among the vehicles listed, the Maserati GT2 Stradale might be the one with the most sports car character. Though it’s derived from the MC20, the GT2 Stradale boasts numerous enhancements and is marketed as a road-race inspired model that combines performance and customization options. This car packs a punch with 640 horsepower, sheds more than 100 pounds compared to the MC20, and employs sophisticated aerodynamics. What truly catches our attention about this vehicle is its ability to accelerate from 0-60 in just 2.8 seconds and reach top speeds of 200 mph, all while retaining the daily driving comfort of the MC20 thanks to its luxurious cabin design.

Nardone Porsche 928 Restomod

In terms of Porsche restomods, it really doesn’t get better than Nardone Automotive’s Porsche build. While Porsche restomods come a dime a dozen these days, they’re generally in the form of a 911 — which is what makes Nardone’s choice of using the 928 so refreshing and attractive. The car features updates like a 5L V8 engine, producing 450 hp, a carbon fiber body, reworked axels and a luxury-focused interior that taps into a sense of nostalgia. The highlight of the Nardone 928 is easily its bespoke six-speed gearbox and analog instrument setup and with a price tag of $525,093 USD — exclusivity comes standard.

Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail Commission

2021 has me drooling over Rolls-Royce’s latest masterpiece, the Arcadia Coachbuild Droptail Commission. I can’t help but be amazed by the 8,000 painstaking hours poured into this beauty. Drawing inspiration from Greek mythology, its design exudes a calming vibe with its duotone white and silver finish, adorned with an expansive wood section – the largest ever seen in a Rolls-Royce vehicle. But the real showstopper? The intricate bespoke clock that took a whopping five months to perfect and is said to be the most elaborate clock in their history. As a gamer, I’m not used to luxury cars, but even for me, this one’s hard to beat!

RUF Rodeo

Delving into the spirit of the untamed frontier, RUF unveiled their newest creation, the Rodeo vehicle. This off-road powerhouse boasts a striking orange exterior and an interior design reminiscent of Ralph Lauren’s elegance. The performance enhancements are equally captivating, from its 610 hp turbocharged flat-six engine to its refined all-wheel drive system. Its carbon fiber monocoque chassis, Integrated Roll Cage (IRC), high-tech suspension and custom Goodyear off-road tires suggest it’s more than prepared for any journey ahead.

Toyota Crown Crossover Landscape

Wrapping up our list, we have another vehicle merging luxury and off-road performance – the Toyota Crown Crossover Landscape. This automobile effortlessly follows the safari style trend seen this year and boasts features such as raised suspension, all-terrain tires, and a hybrid engine that generates a potent 340 horsepower. Unfortunately, it’s currently only scheduled for release in Japan, though global availability may be expanded later on.
