As a devoted Outlander fan who has been following the series since its debut, I must admit that I am feeling quite disappointed with the current season. After eagerly anticipating each new episode for months, I find myself growing increasingly frustrated by the excessive use of filler episodes and the drawn-out storylines.

Having spent countless hours immersed in the world of Outlander, I have grown accustomed to the intricate plot twists and captivating characters that make this series stand out. However, it seems that Season 7 has lost its way, particularly with regard to the ongoing saga between Brianna and Rob.

In my humble opinion, the series’ seventh season feels like it has been stuck in a time loop, rehashing the same scenes of Brianna worrying and fretting about Jemmy without any significant progress being made. The lack of development in this storyline is a stark contrast to the swift pacing and captivating plotlines that characterized earlier seasons.

Furthermore, the adventure taken by Roger and Buck through the stones has been nothing more than a disappointment. Their journey seems to consist solely of pointless questioning and running away from danger without making any meaningful progress or contributing to the overall storyline. It’s as if the writers have forgotten that these characters have lives beyond their current predicament, and their stories would barely change if they were removed entirely.

I understand that the American Revolution serves as a significant backdrop for the series, but it feels as though we are reliving the same events over and over again without any meaningful progress. The lack of resolution to these drawn-out storylines is making it increasingly difficult to remain engaged with each new episode.

In conclusion, I fear that the current season of Outlander may not end on a high note if the writers continue down this path of filler episodes and slow-moving plotlines. As a loyal fan, I can only hope that the upcoming eighth season will bring more of the intrigue, suspense, and captivating storytelling that made me fall in love with Outlander in the first place.

With its unparalleled excellence, it’s almost unfathomable that there might be flaws in this beloved historical fantasy series. However, despite its enduring popularity, even “Outlander” is not immune to errors. Regrettably, Part 2 of Season 7 seems to be committing a significant blunder, one that could potentially tarnish the entire series.

What Is ‘Outlander’ Season 7 Part 2 About?

In the subsequent segment of Outlander Season 7, Claire locates Jamie injured from the second conflict at Saratoga on the battlefield. True to form, she reprimands him for putting his life in danger, yet again. Fortunately, Jamie, Claire, and Ian manage a brief return to Lallybroch. However, it is only temporary, as Claire is the one who must leave first for Philadelphia. The events that ensue are undeniably the most startling moments ever experienced in Outlander.

Concurrently with Jamie and Claire encountering significant challenges, it is revealed that William (James Vandervaart) unintentionally discovers he is Jamie’s biological son. This startling revelation leaves him disoriented and sets him on a questionable path in the series Outlander. As William deviates from the norm, both himself and those around him are put at risk. If you believe that the bewildering plot twists in Season 7 Part 2 of Outlander only concern Claire and Jamie’s time, you would be mistaken. Roger (Richard Rankin) and Brianna (Sophie Skelton), despite being back in their own time, are compelled to confront a new adversary, causing Roger to return through the stones again.

‘Outlander’s Biggest Mistake in Season 7 Part 2

It’s likely evident at this point that the show Outlander has three interwoven narratives featuring beloved characters. While it’s not uncommon for multiple stories to develop concurrently, the execution of these plots in Outlander leaves much to be desired, as they are currently being handled poorly.

In the seventh season of “Outlander,” we alternate between the tumultuous journey of Jamie and Claire, marked by false deaths, a third wedding, medical procedures, and conflicts. These occurrences are not only rich in plot twists but also contribute significantly to their personal growth, making them pivotal points in the narrative. This is why fans eagerly anticipate a spin-off series focusing on this captivating character duo.

What viewers know, but Jamie and Claire don’t, is that their grandson, Jemmy, was kidnapped by Brianna’s coworker, Rob. They suspect he’s after hidden money in Jamie’s time, so they think he took the boy through the stones. This leads Roger and Buck to follow them, but they don’t end up in Jamie and Claire’s time. At the same time, Brianna discovers that Rob is still in her own time, leaving her to deal with him without any way of reaching Roger.

While examining them individually, these three plotlines might seem captivating, but when they intertwine and unfold concurrently, they simply don’t work. The sheer amount of activity happening simultaneously results in a confusing narrative, and at the same time, there is a lack of cohesion. This disjointedness between the storylines makes it challenging for viewers to keep up, and unfortunately, scenes featuring Brianna, Rob, Roger, and Buck feel superfluous as a result.

The Downside of Filler Episodes in ‘Outlander’

As the seventh season of the show nears its conclusion, viewers are eagerly anticipating more engaging content beyond the controversial episode of Outlander and the series’ frequent filler episodes. It seems that the theme of the American Revolution has been a recurring focus in Outlander for an extended period, which is understandable but might benefit from a faster narrative pace to keep up the interest. At times, the storyline appears stretched out, making it easy to grow weary of the plot development.

Regarding the prolonged and perplexing conflict between Brianna and Rob, it seems reminiscent of situations where things just seem to drag on forever. Initially, Brianna’s scenes felt redundant, as all she appeared to be doing was fretting. Granted, her worries were justified, but they didn’t contribute significantly to the main narrative. Perhaps it’s time for a change of pace and watching an exciting romance series like ‘Outlander’, since so far, there isn’t much to keep us engaged, despite Brianna engaging in confrontations with Rob. The problem lies in the fact that there is scant information about what exactly is transpiring. Initially, Rob came across as a good person, but suddenly he turned into a bad guy. Admittedly, his motivation – seeking money – was presented, but it lacks depth and clarity.

Brianna’s narrative seems tangled with that of Buck and Roger, or rather their lack of action-packed adventures. So far, they’ve only asked questions or fled, but their exploits haven’t added much to the story. It feels like unnecessary episodes in the series Outlander. In essence, if Roger and Buck were removed, it wouldn’t significantly alter the main events.

As a long-time fan of the Outlander series, I must say that I am quite disappointed with how Season 7 is unfolding. With each passing episode, it seems as though we are getting less and less resolution to the ongoing storylines. As someone who has invested countless hours into this captivating world, it would be a real letdown if the season were to end without any meaningful conclusions. I have high hopes that the writers can somehow pull things together in the final episodes, but it’s hard not to feel frustrated as a viewer.

I’ve been following Outlander since its debut on Starz, and I can say that it has provided me with countless hours of enjoyment and escape from reality. It’s a show that I look forward to each week, and one that I have recommended to many friends. So it’s disheartening to see the current season feeling a bit disjointed and lacking in resolution.

I can only hope that the writers can find a way to tie up loose ends and provide a satisfying conclusion to this season. As a fan, I will continue to stay tuned each week, but I can’t help but feel a sense of unease as we approach the end of the season.
