Owner Of Carrie’s Sex And The City Apartment Going To New Lengths To Keep Fans Away

In the energetic atmosphere of New York City, popular television shows like “Sex and The City” have emerged, many of them being set in this iconic city. However, the actual building where Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment is depicted has a private owner seeking ways to protect their residence from eager fans. The famous entrance door has gained notoriety as a spot made famous by television, thanks to the enduring popularity of HBO’s classic series.

According to Entertainment Weekly, the house frequently receives unexpected guests who feel free to climb the porch steps, peer into the windows, and in some cases, deface the stairway with graffiti or carve messages on the doorframe. It’s worth noting that Bradshaw’s front door is a popular attraction among Sex and the City tourists. Neighbors have expressed concern for the homeowner, expressing their support for addressing this issue in the SATC notable landmarks.

It seems as though some individuals have made aggressive comments, implying they might physically assault me, specifically by threatening to hit me in the face. However, it appears that the gravity of the situation may not be fully appreciated due to their perceived entitlement over this private property.

Barbara Lorber, owner of 66 Perry Street, never imagined she’d have such a notable residence on her hands. Since 1978, it has been her home, and she acknowledges that she consented to its current status. In the late ’90s, she compassionately agreed to let a struggling location scout use her home for the show.

Lorber has been pushing for additional barriers to prevent fans from trespassing and damaging his home. At present, a chain-link fence spans the front of the stairs with a notice indicating private property, but this is frequently ignored. Now, discussions about installing a city-compliant fence are underway, aiming to protect the property and provide Lorber with assurance. It’ll be exciting to see what transpires, as And Just Like That Season 3 is scheduled for release in the latter part of our 2025 TV lineup.

Although details about the third season of “AJLT” are still scarce, it’s clear that Carrie has relocated from her previous dwelling to a three-story apartment in Gramercy Park. Regrettably, it appears that Sara Ramirez may not be returning for this upcoming series, which is disappointing given the stability her character, Che Diaz, provided during the show’s rocky comeback – similar to how Kim Cattrall’s Samantha Jones held things together in the original run. The cameo of Cattrall as Samantha in the season 2 finale left us yearning for a character like her to maintain the balance in this affluent, cosmopolitan series.

It’s my hope that the actual owner of Carrie Bradshaw’s apartment from Sex and The City and the building itself can find some peace in this year. With Carrie moving out and discussions about putting up a fence, perhaps fans will finally understand that they don’t have the right to intrude on this private residence.
