A feature-length documentary on Ozzy Osbourne is set to premiere on Paramount+ later this year.
The documentary titled “Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now,” currently being made, will offer a glimpse into the personal struggles of the musician following a significant fall in 2019 and his subsequent Parkinson’s disease diagnosis. This production aims to shed light on the challenges Ozzy has encountered since then.
Here’s a unique glimpse into the life of Ozzy Osbourne: a heartfelt, genuine, and intimate portrayal of a legendary rock icon. The synopsis reveals that this documentary chronicles how the singer experienced a significant pause in his life six years ago, causing him to introspect about his identity, grapple with his own mortality, and wonder if he could ever perform one last time on stage. It delves into his health struggles, including his Parkinson’s diagnosis, and highlights the crucial role that music continues to play in Ozzy’s life.
Osbourne stated, “The past six years have been incredibly challenging, even including some of the hardest moments I’ve ever faced. There were instances where I believed my time had come. However, creating music and producing two albums kept me going. Without music, I might have gone insane.
Under the guidance of BAFTA-winning director Tania Alexander, the documentary started its filming journey in early 2022, coinciding with the recording process for Osbourne’s thirteenth studio album named “Patient Number 9”. The filming will extend into the summer, concluding with a farewell performance by the British icon on stage alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates. This special event is scheduled for July 5, as part of a sold-out commemoration in Birmingham, England.
In this upcoming documentary, I’ll be sharing an intimate look into my life, with my wife Sharon Osbourne and our children right by my side. Some of the music industry’s heavyweights, like Tony Iommi (Black Sabbath), Duff McKagan (Guns N’ Roses), Robert Trujillo (Metallica), Billy Idol, Maynard James Keenan (Tool), Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers), the brilliant guitarist Zakk Wylde, producer Andrew Watt, and Billy Morrison will also be part of this journey.
Sharon commented: “This movie honestly portrays Ozzy’s experiences over the past few years, highlighting his struggles and the bravery he’s displayed while battling various health problems, including Parkinson’s. It delves into the true nature of his current life. We collaborated with a reliable production team who were given creative liberty to tell the story candidly. We hope this tale serves as an inspiration for those facing similar challenges that Ozzy has experienced.
Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape From Now” is a production of U.K.-based Echo Velvet Productions (known for “It’s Showtime” and “Kids Like Us”), in collaboration with the Osbournes and MTV Entertainment Studios.
