‘Pachinko’ Stars Yuh-Jung Youn, Jin Ha Confront Family and Business Conflict in Season 2 Trailer

As a passionate gamer and avid fan of Apple TV+ content, I couldn’t help but feel deeply intrigued by the latest trailer for “Pachinko” season 2. Having grown up with a diverse background myself, I was immediately drawn to this captivating storyline that explores the complexities of identity and family dynamics across generations.

In the new trailer for the second season of Apple TV+’s “Pachinko,” released on Monday, a Korean family’s ongoing struggles with war, prohibited love, and business sustainability are depicted.

In the new series preview, we see two interconnected storylines unfold. The first follows Minha Kim, portrayed as a young Sunja, in Osaka, Japan during 1945. Amidst the chaos of wartime, she makes risky choices to secure her family’s wellbeing.

In the captivating trailer for “Pachinko,” we follow Solomon, a financially savvy man who is torn between his family history and his most significant professional opportunity. As a multilingual and time-traveling individual, Solomon faces the challenge of balancing his identity as an accomplished Japanese businessman with his aspirations for wealth and personal growth in America.

Sunja, now an elder, reminds Solomon at one point in the trailer, “Don’t forget your roots. Can you manage that?” The Baek family story spanning four generations, presented in Korean, Japanese, and English, raises the query: What are Solomon’s ethnicities?

The puzzled expression on Solomon’s face as his grandmother reminds him not to neglect their family background implies that he may not fully recognize his own identity while engaging in business dealings with a Japanese entrepreneur during the second installment of the generational tale. “I’ll figure it out, you can count on me,” Solomon reassures Naomi, portrayed by Anna Sawai from “Shōgun.”

In the third trailer for the upcoming season, we see Sunja as a young adult, portrayed by Minha Kim, reuniting with her past love Koh Hansu (Lee Minho). According to the creator of “Pachinko,” Soo Hugh, her vision for the intricately woven multigenerational tale based on Min Jin Lee’s 2017 novel of the same name consists of a four-season plan, with eight episodes in each season for Apple TV+.

As a gamer, I’d say:

As a huge fan of both Coldplay and K-pop, I’m absolutely thrilled about the news that Apple TV+ will be premiering the second season of “Pachinko” with a new cover of “Viva La Vida” by none other than Rosé from Blackpink! Having grown up listening to a mix of Western and Eastern music, this fusion of cultures in such an exciting way really resonates with me.
