A grand mansion located in Pacific Palisades, believed to have appeared in the TV series ‘Succession’, has sadly met its end due to the destructive wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles.
It seems that the grand mansion, allegedly belonging to tech magnate Austin Russell, resembles the luxurious property depicted in the opening scene of the fourth season of the popular HBO series, which served as the Roy siblings’ hideout while they deliberated their next plan against their father.
The Daily Mail has published photos showing the house reduced to rubble and charred beams.
The article mentions that the once ornate interior of the four-story property is completely gone, as seen in this video tour. Now, the building has caved in on itself due to the fire. The panic rooms and retinal scanner outside the master bedroom were also affected by the blaze. Regarding the exterior, the fire pit remains, but it’s covered in soot, and the pool water is murky black.
This sprawling 6-bedroom, 18-bath residence, famously known as the San Onofre estate, boasts a chef’s kitchen designed by Nobu, a 20-seat cinema, a rooftop ideal for stargazing that retracts, a temperature-regulated wine lounge, an auto gallery, and a spa. As per various reports, this luxurious abode was constructed by developer Ardie Tavangarian in the year 2020 and was later purchased by Russell for a staggering $83 million in 2021.
Russell serves as both the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) at Luminar Technologies, a business specializing in the development of solutions for constructing self-driving vehicles.
The latest news arrives amidst the devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires, particularly the Palisades fire, which has claimed 11 lives, destroyed over 12,000 buildings, and scorched approximately 56 square miles since they ignited on Tuesday.
The Spanish Colonial revival mansion from the TV shows “Hacks” and “Runaways”, located in Altadena, has been destroyed by the Eaton Fire, making it one of many filming locations for TV shows and movies that have been affected by recent fires. Additionally, the Palisades Charter High School, a popular filming spot for movies like “Carrie” and 2003’s “Freaky Friday”, has also been destroyed. Other affected locations include the Will Rogers Ranch house and McNally House in Altadena, which were used in shows such as “Entourage” and “Our Flag Means Death”.
In the meantime, it’s good to know that the house in Altadena, which stood in as the external set for the Walsh family home on Beverly Hills, 90210, was saved from any harm.
