The entire Panjab ’95 team, including Diljit Dosanjh, have been vigorously resisting the proposed edits suggested by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Lately, this versatile artist expressed his stance on the movie during an Instagram Live session, declaring that he wouldn’t endorse the film if it gets released with any cuts.

The actor portraying Amar Singh Chamkila expressed his eagerness for the movie to be shown in India shortly. He stated, “I will back a film that is released uncensored entirely. If it comes out without edits, I’ll attend; otherwise, if there are cuts, it doesn’t make a difference.” Dosanjh also yearned for a resolution regarding the issue and asked for the movie to be screened in Punjab state, India, at an early date.

Following this, Honey Trehan, the film’s director, posted his stance on Instagram Stories, backing the movie. In his statement, the filmmaker made it clear that if any cuts are made to Panjab ’95, he would not be credited as its director. He strongly criticized the CBFC’s decision and expressed that he does not align with the organization’s unjustified and politically biased demands.

Honey firmly reaffirmed his commitment to his movie, his team, and promised not to disappoint their trust in him. He expressed confidence that justice would be served quickly, and hoped the world could soon watch the full version of the film. He closed with a heartfelt acknowledgement of Jaswant Singh Khalra ji’s martyrdom.

For those not in the know, “Panjab ’95” is a forthcoming historical drama film that’s being produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies. Alongside Diljit, this film features Arjun Rampal and Suvinder Vicky in its cast.
