In 2025, the much-awaited movie “Param Sundari” starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor is set to hit the screens. At present, they are filming this project in Kerala. It’s fascinating to note that there seems to be a connection between this new production and Mani Ratnam’s classic films such as Iruvar and Dil Se, which has sparked even more excitement among viewers.
As Filmfare reports, there seems to be a unique bond between Param Sundari and Mani Ratnam’s cinematic heritage. Notably, Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra recently filmed at the Athirappilly waterfalls – a site that has been captivating audiences since Mani Ratnam shot significant scenes for movies like Iruvar, Dil Se, Raavan, and Guru. Given the awe-inspiring scenery of these locations, it’s anticipated that Param Sundari will feature visually stunning sequences, with the picturesque surroundings set to enhance the film’s allure.
Recently, Sidharth Malhotra posted a stunning waterfall view from the set of Param Sundari on his Instagram story. The video was accompanied by the caption, “Greetings, Kerala.” (or simply, “Salutations, Kerala.”)
In the forthcoming movie, which is being led by director Tushar Jalota (of Dasvi fame), it’s said that the narrative unfolds as a romantic tale featuring a North Indian character, skillfully played by Sidharth Malhotra, and a South Indian character beautifully enacted by Janhvi Kapoor.
The movie was shot in the scenic backwaters of Kerala, providing a touching storyline where two distinct worlds collide. This film is portrayed as an exhilarating ride filled with humor, confusion, and unexpected turns, enticing viewers with its distinctive mix of romance and humor.
Dinesh Vijan disclosed to Variety that this movie offers fascinating aspects, such as distinctive music and the casting of Janhvi Kapoor as a South Indian personality, along with Sidharth Malhotra playing a character born in North Delhi.
He found the intriguing clash among the characters extremely engaging and compared it to raising the stakes even higher in a conversation with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, adding a futuristic flair. Vijan went on to say that the movie immerses viewers in a realm similar to Kantara, tackling concepts that might surprise audiences.
The initial posters for the upcoming romantic comedy starring Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra have been revealed. Titled “Param Sundari,” this film is directed by Tushar Jalota, under the banner of Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The movie will hit theaters on July 25, 2025.
