Paramount’s Pluto TV, France’s M6+ Strike Streaming Partnership

Paramount’s Pluto TV, France’s M6+ Strike Streaming Partnership

As a long-time fan of quality, diverse, and free entertainment, I am absolutely thrilled about this strategic partnership between Paramount Global’s Pluto TV and M6+! Growing up, I have always cherished the unique content that both platforms offer, from French classics like Les Marseillais and Zone Interdite to American favorites like Blue Bloods.

As a gamer, I’d put it like this: “I’m pumped about the collaboration between Paramount Global’s ad-supported streaming service, Pluto TV, and Groupe M6’s new AVOD platform, M6+. This partnership aims to boost our free streaming and digital entertainment in France, which is fantastic news for us gamers and digital enthusiasts here!

In a unique collaboration, both streaming services stand to gain culturally significant content from each other, as announced on Tuesday. M6+ subscribers will access 12 Pluto TV channels, boasting around 3000 hours of content from popular shows like Just Tattoo of Us, Alerte à Malibu, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Blue Bloods, Olive et Tom, MTV Classics, as well as channels dedicated to movies, series, and animations. Conversely, Pluto TV users can enjoy French audiovisual brands, with six M6 content channels offering approximately 2000 hours of content, including Zone Interdite, Turbo, Les reines du shopping, Les Marseillais, among others.

In this arrangement, M6 will collaborate with Pluto TV as their advertising partner. This means M6 Publicité can now offer Pluto TV’s entire French inventory as part of their collection, and Pluto TV content will be accessible on M6+. Additionally, Paramount Advertising in France will work together with the M6 team to sell Pluto TV’s inventory within the market.

“The free ad-supported streaming industry is thriving internationally. As a leader in this space, we understand the value of partnering with key local entities, especially in competitive markets like France. Building on our successful collaborations across multiple markets, we are now expanding our FAST business with M6,” said Olivier Jollet, executive vp and international general manager at Pluto TV. “M6 stands out as an ideal partner, offering a powerful platform, beloved content, a large consumer base, and strong expertise in ad sales. By combining their strong presence in France with our FAST capabilities, we aim to create a dynamic and innovative model for the industry and consumers in France, as well as a blueprint for other markets.”

Henri de Fontaines, a member of Groupe M6’s executive board responsible for strategy, transformation, and development, stated: “As a leader in digital TV in France, Groupe M6 is speeding up its transformation by implementing the M6+ plan, an ambitious initiative tailored to the increasing digital consumption of our content. Introduced successfully in May 2024, our AVOD platform boasts a collection from the Group’s renowned brands and serves as a popular hub for top international audiovisual franchises. We are excited about our bold partnership with Pluto TV, which provides us an opportunity to offer even more captivating content to our audience. With the rising popularity of free ad-supported television, we view this collaboration as a strategic move that could potentially foster a strong relationship over time.

Previously, M6 collaborated with Konbini and NBCUniversal’s reality TV streaming service, Hayu.

Following strategic collaborations with Corus in Canada and Viaplay in the Nordics, Pluto TV is moving forward, enhancing its content offerings for viewers and generating fresh business prospects for clients,” stated the Paramount streaming service.
