It turns out Bikini Bottom is in Frisco, Texas.
NBCUniversal has struck a partnership with Paramount Global, which means that the iconic Nickelodeon series “SpongeBob SquarePants” will be featured at the kid-friendly and family-oriented theme park Universal’s Destinations and Experiences is constructing in Texas.
Universal officially unveiled the IP-centric lands they’re constructing at their upcoming resort in Frisco, opening next year. The majority of these lands will be themed around IPs either owned or affiliated with NBCUniversal, with SpongeBob and one other (marked) as exceptions to this rule.
The territories encompass DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek, Puss in Boots, Trolls, and Gabby’s Dollhouse; Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants; Illumination’s Minions, along with Jurassic World. In simpler terms, these include popular franchises like Shrek, Puss in Boots, Trolls, Gabby’s Dollhouse, SpongeBob SquarePants, Minions, and Jurassic World.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve got to say that Gabby’s Dollhouse is a captivating Netflix series, and it’s not just any series; it’s one crafted by the skilled hands of Dreamworks Television. You probably know some of their other works, like Minions, Jurassic World, Shrek, and Trolls – all part of blockbuster franchises that this company has a significant stake in.
At Universal Kids Resort, kids can expect to frolic, croon, jive, and explore alongside some beloved characters, as shared by Dan Cuffe, the VP and GM of this resort. Beyond the captivating attractions and performances, families will discover comfortable spots to unwind and additionally indulge in themed snacks and drinks, as well as purchase charming character mementos. Each area exudes a sense of amazement with its vibrant, colorful surroundings.
Visitors to the park will encounter characters from Bikini Bottom such as Spongebob (Mr. Squarepants), Squidward, and Sandy Cheeks who is originally from Texas. The company explains that guests can engage in activities like getting a boating license or simply unwind on the beach while bubbles drift by. Kids, families, and friends will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the whimsical, absurd underwater world.
In Shrek’s realm, there’ll be a playground designed around a swamp theme; Minions will run the show at a water-centric “resort”; Puss In Boots will manage a carnival-style zone; Trolls will be hanging out in a world centered around music festivals; and the Jurassic World section offers encounters with dinosaurs. Characters from Gabby’s Dollhouse can be found in the central hub linking all these distinctive realms together.
Sarah Gibbon, VP & executive producer at Universal Creative, expressed excitement about the chance to make beloved tales come alive for children and families. In every stage of development, we thought carefully about creating a space tailored for kids where they can discover, use their imaginations, and embark on exciting journeys alongside their loved ones. Here, they’ll be able to engage, play, and be completely engrossed in these cherished stories – brimming with wonder, laughter, and happiness.
The firm has additionally verified plans for a 300-room hotel, which will double as the park’s main entry point.
