However, it’s locked until you make it to Act 3.

To access the Reforging Bench, you need to get the Treasures of Utzaal quest from Oswald, who is stationed at the Ziggurat Encampment within the submerged city.

This quest takes you into a dungeon called The Molten Vault.

Upon entering, you’ll encounter Mektul, the Master Blacksmith – a formidable foe you must defeat to gain access to the Re-forging Station.

This version maintains the original meaning while making it more conversational and easier to read.

Mektul isn’t an easy opponent, so make sure you have the appropriate equipment, particularly items that offer fire resistance, given that there’s a lot of lava around.

You’ll have the upper hand against Mektul if you use cold-based spells or weapons.

Additionally, there’s a timer set for four minutes. If you can’t vanquish Mektul within that timeframe, the surrounding area will be filled with flowing lava, resulting in an instant loss.

When you defeat Mektul, he will drop the Hammer of Kamasa, and you must take it back to Oswald.

Giving the Hammer concludes the mission and makes the Reforging Bench accessible in every town, as well as your personal hideaway.

How To Use the Reforging Bench

What Can Be Reforged?

The Reforging Bench works with different items throughout the game.

Gear

Combining three identical items based on their rarity and category (like armor, weaponry, accessories, or gems), allows you to create a brand-new item featuring unique properties.

For example, you can combine three Magic Rings to make a new one with different stats.

Put together three Waystones of the same tier to get one from the next tier.

Essences and Catalysts

There’s no option for upgrading Essences, however, occasionally a standard Essence might transform into a Greater Essence.

Precursor Tablets and Relics

Instead of ordinary items, consider using artifacts such as landmarks or intensified feelings, which become more powerful with each enhancement. These make excellent choices for your toolkit due to their continuous improvement.

Rolling equipment again can be considered as a risk because the outcomes are unpredictable, and they may not consistently provide improved statistics every time.

It’s best to prioritize items essential to your build or ones you’re open to testing out.
