Oh, the thrill that races through me as I hear the news of Patrick Dempsey potentially returning to the Scream franchise! As a fan who has lived through his charismatic performance as Kincaid in the third movie and the intriguing references to his character in later installments, this is nothing short of exhilarating.
According to Patrick Dempsey, discussions have been held regarding a possible comeback of his character Kincaid in the Scream series.
On Thursday, the actor made an appearance on ‘Today’ to talk about The Dempsey Center, a facility offering free, all-encompassing cancer care. During his interview on the morning program, he also shared updates on ‘Scream 7’, revealing that Neve Campbell will be back for this installment, despite skipping the sixth one due to a disagreement over pay.
In the universe of Scream, Campbell’s Sidney and Dempsey’s character Kincaid are married. When asked during a talk show if there’s a chance he might return to battle Ghostface again, he hinted that it could indeed be a possibility.
As a gamer, I’m eagerly anticipating the next level script. There’s been a chat about it backstage, but I haven’t received my mission briefing yet. So, let’s wait and see how things unfold. After all, every new quest is exciting!
In the third film, Dempsey joined the cosmos, playing a private investigator from Los Angeles who was probing the homicides of individuals linked to the third installment of the horror movie franchise, “Stab 3.” It was later revealed, away from the camera’s eye, that Kincaid had tied the knot with Sidney and their partnership continued in both “Scream” (2022) and “Scream VI” (2003), with these movies subtly referencing his character.
In a different chat, the famous Ferrari driver elaborated further about the possibility of his return to the series following his absence since the third movie, when speaking with some individuals.
He pointed out that in his line of work, surprises are commonplace. However, if a chance arises and materializes, he’s committed to treating it with utmost importance.
Next up, Dempsey is set to feature in the prequel to “Dexter,” titled “Original Sin.” Here, he will play Aaron Spencer, a Miami Metro Homicide captain who has a long-standing relationship dating back several decades with Christian Slater’s character, Harry Morgan.
He expressed that the experience within the culture of ‘Dexter: Original Sin’ has been an amazing adventure for him. He made these remarks on a separate occasion during ‘Today’. The team is outstanding, and we’re all enjoying ourselves immensely. The crew, cast, and scripts are simply top-notch,” he stated.
