Paul Bettany Weighs in on ‘Agatha All Along’ and Reveals Vision Series Begins Shooting Next Year

As a seasoned gamer who has witnessed the rise and fall of countless characters in various gaming universes, I must admit that the news of Paul Bettany reprising his role as Vision for Marvel’s upcoming series on Disney+ is nothing short of exhilarating. His portrayal of this intriguing character has always been a highlight for me, and to see him return is like finding a long-lost ally in a game I thought I had completed.

Actor Paul Bettany is playfully sharing some tidbits about the upcoming Marvel series featuring his character, Vision, which is slated to debut on Disney+ in 2026.

Bettany once again takes on the character he played in the Avengers series, the android who developed feelings for Scarlet Witch (portrayed by Elizabeth Olsen). In the series ‘WandaVision’, this character made a comeback through sorcery and the force of grief, but not in his original form. Instead, he appeared as a rebuilt, ghostly white version of himself following his destruction by Thanos.

At the Los Angeles premiere of his latest film “Here” on Friday, Bettany shared with The Hollywood Reporter that the production for the show will begin next year and expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We’re working on something I’m really looking forward to.” He playfully warned that he couldn’t disclose further details because “those who talk too much often find themselves in trouble.

Besides expressing his opinions, the actor has shared insights about the ongoing show “Agatha All Along,” which is a spin-off from “WandaVision” and focuses on the character Agatha Harkness, portrayed by Kathryn Hahn.

Bettany expressed his affection, stating that he’s both smitten and filled with pride towards showrunner Jac Schaeffer. He also mentioned his intention to rewatch the piece because there’s a wealth of knowledge for him to absorb as he prepares to contribute more in the future.

In the unnamed Vision series, we’ll witness the comeback of James Spader’s character, Ultron – a being with consciousness that was developed by Tony Stark, or Iron Man, initially designed for defense but ultimately rebelled against humanity, as depicted in the film “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. The television series is being overseen by Terry Matalas, who has previously worked on “Star Trek: Picard”.

Currently, Bettany is starring together with Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Kelly Reilly, and Michelle Dockery in Robert Zemeckis’s movie “Here”. This unique film, titled “Here”, unfolds within a single room, providing an intimate look at the lives of multiple generations from various families.

The actor expressed that he’s never encountered a script quite like this one, and as he delved into it, he realized he was portraying Tom Hanks’ father. Simultaneously, a thought process began in his mind: “How will this work? They’ll find a way!” Indeed, director Bob Zemeckis found a way, and then we had the opportunity to act out scenes where I scold my on-screen son, Tom Hanks. Known as America’s dad, Tom Hanks is now playing my grandson on screen.
