Peacock’s ‘Face to Face With Scott Peterson’ Trailer Presents New Theories on Laci Peterson’s Murder

As a true crime enthusiast who has followed the Laci Peterson case since its inception, I am both excited and intrigued by the upcoming Peacock docuseries, “Face to Face With Scott Peterson.” The trailer promises new theories, fresh insights, and never-before-seen footage – elements that have always piqued my interest.

The initial preview from Peacock unveils the true crime documentary series titled “Face to Face With Scott Peterson“, which presents various speculations regarding the possible motives behind the killing of Laci Peterson, his wife.

“The Los Angeles Innocence Project has joined efforts to examine details overlooked by the Modesto Police Department, according to Janey, Peterson’s sister-in-law. A fresh detail surfaced about a burglary happening in an adjacent property, which Laci Peterson’s former defense attorney, Lara Yeretsian, suggests could potentially imply that the burglars abducted and murdered Laci. Bryan Spitulski, a previous fire investigator for the Modesto PD, poses a question: ‘Why wasn’t the presence of blood on a mattress in a van not investigated further?’ Yeretsian considers this piece of evidence as potentially ‘exonerating’, implying that it should have undergone DNA testing.”

Apart from introducing his theories, the trailer also includes fresh clips from Jordan Peterson’s initial television interview since 2003. Director Shareen Anderson queries, “Why should anyone be interested in your perspective?,” to which Peterson replies from prison, “Because I didn’t murder my family.”

The three-part documentary series offers a fresh perspective on the infamous case, which is now 20 years after Peterson was imprisoned for life due to allegations of murdering his pregnant wife. Anderson, who additionally functions as co-executive producer, has been delving into this case for over a decade, considering the possibility that Scott could have been unfairly convicted.

Additionally, the series includes discussions with retired Modesto Police Department detective Al Brocchini, detective Jon Buehler, and ex-ABC News producer Mike Gudgell, along with other individuals associated with the case.

Face to Face With Scott Peterson premieres on Tuesday, Aug. 20.

Besides the current docuseries on Peterson, another one is surfacing in celebration of his 20th anniversary conviction. Netflix has also debuted its own series titled “American Murder: The Disappearance of Laci Peterson“, offering insights into the case from Laci’s family and close friends’ perspectives.
