‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ Finds Its Tyson for Season 2

As a devoted fan of Rick Riordan’s Percy Jackson series, I’m beyond excited to learn that Daniel Diemer has been cast as Tyson in the upcoming season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Disney+! This news comes after an already impressive list of credits for Diemer, including roles in Hulu’s Under the Bridge, Netflix’s The Midnight Club, and feature films such as The Half of It, Supercell, and Little Brother.

Season two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians has cast one of its key new roles.

At Comic-Con on Thursday, it was revealed that Daniel Diemer has been chosen to play the beloved cyclops character Tyson in the Disney+ series, based on Rick Riordan’s popular five-book collection.

The second season of “Percy Jackson,” which is based on the book “The Sea of Monsters” in the series, is scheduled to begin filming next week in Vancouver. Diemer will be a regular cast member, joining the main actors Walker Scobell (as Percy), Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth), and Aryan Simhadri (Grover).

I’m a solitary cyclops named Tyson, who grew up fending for myself among humans. With my shyness, awkwardness, and enormous heart, I’ve found it challenging to fit in. Yet, there’s more to me than meets the eye – I’m the brother of Percy Jackson, as we share the same father, Poseidon, played by Toby Stephens.

In the second season of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians,” Percy returns to Camp Half-Blood a year after the happenings of the first season. His world is described as being in disarray in the show’s tagline. Percy’s relationship with Annabeth is evolving, he discovers that he has a cyclops sibling, Grover is missing, and the camp is under attack from Kronos’ forces. To put things right, Percy will embark on a perilous journey beyond the maps, venturing into the treacherous Sea of Monsters, where his destiny as Poseidon’s son could be revealed.

Diemer recently starred in Hulu’s critically praised limited series “Under the Bridge.” He also appears in Netflix’s “The Midnight Club,” and has acted in films such as “The Half of It,” “Supercell,” and “Little Brother.”

Riordan and Jonathan E. Steinberg developed the show, hailing from 20th Television as its production company. They serve as executive producers, joined by Dan Shotz, Rebecca Riordan, Craig Silverstein, Bert Salke, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell of The Gotham Group, James Bobin, Jim Rowe, Albert Kim, Jason Ensler, and Sarah Watson.
