Percy Jackson Vet Logan Lerman Shares The Lovely Way He’s Bonded With Disney+ Show’s Cast, And My Heart Is So Full As A Fan

The convergence of worlds took place in April 2024 when Disney+ shared a photo of Logan Lerman and Walker Scobell together. This sent Percy Jackson fans into a frenzy, as merely the prospect of them meeting would have been thrilling, but a photo opportunity was beyond most fans’ dreams. With Season 2 of Percy Jackson And The Olympians scheduled for release in 2025, Lerman has now disclosed that the picture was simply the beginning – hinting at even more exciting developments to come.

It’s fascinating to discover that the actor from “We Were The Lucky Ones” doesn’t just share a screen presence with his fellow “Son of Poseidon” actor; they have formed a genuine bond off-screen as well. The veteran from “Percy Jackson” revealed to IMDb that he has developed relationships with the newcomers carrying on his character’s role, and as a longtime enthusiast, my heart swells with joy.

I’ve had some interactions with Walker, and it feels like we’ve become friends. We occasionally chat or message each other. I must say, they’re an amazing bunch of youngsters, incredibly gifted, and genuinely kind individuals too.

Back in 2010, when I was deeply immersed in my affection for Percy Jackson as the Lightning Thief movie premiered, it brings me immense joy to know that Logan Lerman hasn’t lost his fondness for this series. It isn’t an effortless task to involve oneself in such a project given how passionate and particular this fan base is. Yes, we can be demanding, but our expectations stem from a place of loyalty towards the characters and books. The original cast members who played Percy, Annabeth, and Grover faced pressure when they initially took on their roles, but after the films didn’t perform as well as hoped, the anticipation for Scobell and co. was even greater.

Of course, it’s fantastic that these two sons of Poseidon are keeping in touch! I hope Lerman can serve as a guide or mentor for the actor from Secret Headquarters during this upcoming season. If everything goes according to plan, an appearance by an original cast member would significantly boost the series ratings. Although Lerman hasn’t filmed any scenes for Season 2 yet, he suggests that it might still happen.

Yeah, of course. I mean, that hasn’t — no conversation’s happened. But I mean, yeah, why not.

It seems that author Rick Riordan has made it clear that the new Disney+ show is independent from the movies, as he’s firm about maintaining separation. Fans may recall his disagreements with Hollywood studio executives during the initial adaptation of his popular young adult mythology series. Yet, I have hope that after the renewal for a second season and considering fan reactions, he might rethink this stance.

In my opinion, not every aspect of the Logan Lerman movies should have been discarded when creating this series. I believe it was an error to make such a drastic change from the original movies. Although Brad Pitt, who played Percy in Bullet Train, is older than the character in the books, I found his portrayal quite impressive. While Scobell’s performance in The Adam Project suggests he could embody Percy’s sarcastic and impulsive energy, I feel he wasn’t fully there yet during Season 1. Therefore, having a familiar face on set may help to bridge the two versions effectively.

The filming for Season 2 has commenced, and I’m thrilled to witness how they transform “Sea of Monsters” for television, given the chaos in the movie plot. Meanwhile, don’t forget to revisit where our cherished half-god heroes stood at the conclusion of Season 1 before Season 2 airs. You can catch up on Season 1 of Percy Jackson And The Olympians now by subscribing to Disney+ and streaming it online.
