Throughout her time on Saturday Night Live (SNL), Heidi Gardner has solidified herself as a crucial part of the program. She’s appeared in numerous hilarious viral sketches such as the Beavis and Butthead one from last year, as well as the Domingo bit that went extremely popular. This season, she’s only reinforced her legendary status. Recently, she praised one of Season 50’s newest sketches, declaring it “perfection.” I wholeheartedly concur with her assessment.

One episode into Saturday Night Live’s run on the 2025 TV schedule, we already have a hit sketch on our hands. Of course, it stars Kenan Thompson, and he truly is doing what he does best, as pointed out by Heidi Gardner in her IG story:

In the drawing, Devon Walker portrays a boyfriend who is questioned about his missing girlfriend by the police. When they inquire about her weight, he appears reluctant to disclose this information. Meanwhile, Kenan Thompson’s character, the janitor, attempts to discreetly (though not very covertly) advise him against answering the question. Take a look for yourself:

Kenan Thompson’s long-standing role on SNL is no accident, and it seems he should remain a permanent fixture. He’s an exceptional comedian! This particular sketch serves as a testament to his talent. His physical humor is spot-on, and the charades game between him and Walker in this sketch had me rolling with laughter until my belly ached.

In a fitting harmony, Thompson’s animated facial expressions and impeccable timing shine brilliantly in this sketch, echoing Heidi Gardner’s sentiments that it is “simply perfect.” Unsurprisingly, viewers seem to share this viewpoint, as evidenced by the video amassing over 1.3 million views on YouTube, having been aired just one week prior during Dave Chappelle’s Season 50 episode.

It’s going viral on Instagram too, which is where Gardner shouted it out. The video currently has 2.7 million views there, and the comments are giving it all the praise as well, as fans wrote things like:

Several people found it incredibly amusing when the comedian mimicked receiving a call and saying “This is the police,” as well as his dramatic “mic drop” moment following Walker’s suggestion to add a crown to the drawing, which was simply delightful.

Thompson is known for collaborating with comedic greats like Chris Farley on shows such as “All That” and “SNL”. It’s likely that his fellow cast members hold him in high regard too. After witnessing countless talented performers pass through Studio 8H, I’m certain many admired Thompson before, during, and even after their time on the renowned sketch comedy series.
